Still no power... Still staying here at my dude's brother's house...my parents just got their power back on so most likely, I'll go stay with them if we still don't have power. I gotta work tomorrow and he doesn't. Boo! Y'all talkin about cans...I gotta pitch in that Erik Barjas on Ch 13 is dreamy! So therefore, Ch 13 has the best coverage! Only bright thing in this mess.
I left for Austin to stay with my sister yesterday. I had no power in Spring (northwest Houston). If anybody needs any gas or groceries go to Brenham or Giddings. Also small parts of Tomball i noticed had gas stations open along FM 2920 near 290. My plan is to stay here till next weekend maybe see UT vs. Rice then probably head back unless i get power sooner.
Couldn't remember my password, couldn't get power to a computer, finally got my laptop up today... Thanks, we are OK, we stayed in Cypress. I live in Angleton and we had about 5 large trees down but they all missed our house Our power will be out a while there are power lines down all over our subdivision, it is heavily wooded, 5 acre lots. I have been praying for everyone, its good to see Rocket fans pull together. I have a family in surfside, tx that lost their roof and their electrical panel was ripped out of the bottom of the house, they have major damage, but they still have a shell of a house standing to rebuild. We have power in Cypress, hope everyone is OK, I will scan the threads for more info. Thanks to all the people out of town who have checked on us here. Thanks, SChang you are a blessing.
no power. i'm camping and sleeping in my backyard...literally. so glad it's been and going to be beautiful this week.
Rhester, Great to hear from you and glad to hear you are OK. I rembered you lived in the South Houston Metro area but wasn't sure where. I'm thinking of heading down to Houston in the next month or so and wanted to talk to you about that. Send me an email when you get the chance and good luck on the cleanup.
Mrs. Valdez and I are still alive. No power. Doing everything possible to avoid the lines to get food, gas, or ice.
my street has power!! we got it this afternoon. does anyone know if comcast is down? o do i need to pay my bill?
so is comcast dead or what? i want to look at por...my portfolio. great, i gt ac, and lights, and hot water, and an oven, and a microwave, and ice. what good is that if i cant sit in front of my tv eating a big ass bowl of ice cream or a large ass oven made frozen pizza, while also being on the computer at the same time.
YESSSS! I FINALLY HAVE POWER!!!!! WOW. It was crazy, earlier the power went on and people in my neighborhood were going crazy. I could hear people cheering and screaming in joy. Then it went off after 20 secs. Now, it seems as if its on for good.
Alvin, still no power in my area. It was exciting to be out on the front porch and watch the trees fight the wind. At least the phone line is up again, so I can surf the net.
LOL. got some strange looks when I laughed.....I'm at the library...no Power yet at my apartment in Nacogdoches.
Hey guys....one of my friends just got his internet back(Comcast btw) so i'm just checking in to say im still alive. lol
I live(d) in Seabrook, Nasa Road 1 just a few miles from the Kemah Boardwalk. I left the very last second to the katy area. Went back yesterday. The apartment is pretty much done roofs gone, flooding. Boats in the parking lot. Its a pretty crazy scene. Personally my matress that I just bought a few months ago and couch a few months before that both became victims of Ike. I got all of my stuff out today a few of the apartments had already gotten broken into overnight. Now I am in the process of getting all the money I can while I search for a new apartment. I had just moved there just to live on the lake I commute about 45 minutes to and from work each day. I'm pretty sure it will be a while before any of the apts on the lake will be suitable for a while so I'm headed back intown to see what I can find.
