I'm alive. Power went out at our hotel in the Woodlands so we decided to drive back home. Our power was out at our house since 3 sat morning. However, other than a few trees downed, our house is untouched and intact. No broken windows even though we did not board them up. Living in Friendswood 77546 area. Just got power back 2 hours ago.
alive and kicking also, just out of power now. Whole complex except my side had power. We stood it toe to toe, didn't go anywhere...R2k, how about that party????
I had a missed call from r2K about 7 PM Saturday, I tried to call back an hour later but got no response, so I'd say at the very least they are alive.
after 48 hours without power, 36 hours without water, 18 hours of poker and mahjong.... I am glad to be somewhat back to normalcy definitely getting the hell out of houston next time a hurricane heads directly here
Bad news for Montgomery County. A large plant near Lake Conroe was really messed up, and it will prohibit power restoration for much of the Conroe/Montgomery/Woodlands area. Could be 2 to 4 weeks, with 3 weeks the most probable. No power or treated water to the entire area. ConroeISD is supposed to update their website this afternoon with further info on school closing. Originally they had planned to have school coming back up on Wednesday. Dont think they will be having school with no power or treated water.
west belfort has gas in the area, also Katy had tanker trucks parked in gas stations about 1am this morning.
It's crzy how this storm was still pretty destructive up here in lufkin\Nacogdoches. still no power since 3am Sat. Glad you all are safe in Houston.
Just spoke to R2k a little while ago and he and his family are fine. He said the house sustained a little damage, a tree was uprooted, and their fence was knocked down, but overall things are ok. They are still without power, but were able to get some gas to keep their generator running. No word on the rockets torrents.
glad to hear a lot of you are all right i was worried for a lot of you that I know personally. seeing the pictures and stories on the news freaks me out every time.
BucMan, where did you get this info? My parents are in The Woodlands and I'd like to pass on the information to them. Thanks...
I went to a lake house in Jacksonville, mistake. It became so scary that we took shelter in a friend's church. For the most part our properties are intake: a few trees are broken or down, fences gone, etc., but, compared to some of our family members who lost their homes, we are most fortunate. I thank God that we have our lives. Pray for my sister-in-law and her husband, they lost everything.
We are all good. We rode the storm out but on Saturday when we heard that there was going to be no electricity for 2-4 weeks we packed up some of our ****, the kids, and the pets and headed out to Indianapolis. We are staying here until we get power back. We had no damage to our house but a huge pine tree in our backyard uprooted and hit our neighbors garage. We have pictures but I'm too tired to put them up just yet.
