She didn't say 'don't leave' but she did say to stay, that it was 'too late' to leave and that they would be setting up shelters.
Not sure I agree with this. It appears that the entire island of Galveston is going to be under water, correct? With a 20 foot storm surge at high tide?
I completely agree with everybody. They are morons. My cousin had this big toothy smile and his eyes lit up, as they left. He is a middle aged man with 2 sons and a wife. I am still hopeful, that they turn around as soon as they hit Texas City.
i guess i'm ready to ride this out with my fiance, parents, sister and dog.. kam, i guess we will find out if our hoods will flood. i'm hoping for best for us and everyone of you. my prayers are with ppl with kids who decided to ride it out in g-town and coastal areas.
The highest elevation on Galvestion is 20 ft above sea level. That would put them just above sea level. If they get to the 2nd story of a strong building in the highest elevation of the island, they should be fine. They should have left, but they still have a good chance of survival on the higher elevations.
i don't know if this has been posted but it's funny as hell, you won't regret clicking on the link Bear Suit guy playing near the beach
If they already live on the 2nd floor on the high part of town, they can stay in place. If they are on the 1st floor, they might have some water seep in the door step from the waves.
