yes..there are some in city limits, i believe. yes, evacuation is mandatory as of yesterday morning. i'm afraid they're going to see surge in even the most inland of those zones.
My boss' boss is nervous about his property in Galveston... In my opinion, it could be a lot worse. I'm sure he could afford to buy another one.
could be worse with wind....usually not worse with storm surge. they're already flooded on the west side of the island...probably where your boss' boss' home is, unless he's on the bay side...but that will flood too.
The NHC has said that the worst winds are well to the north and west of the center of circulation and tropical storm force winds extend out 300 miles from the center.
Hey guys, so does anyone know approximately the time that we should start feeling ike's effects? (I'm in the galleria area) I would love to know a timeline to help prepare.
and forecast has it still at 115 at landfall...very similar...just bigger and bigger storm surge. if it holds its track it will do more damage than alicia did.
The "A" and "B" zones are mandatory. "B" barely touches the edge of the Beltway in a couple of places, so for the most part, very little if any of the city limits are mandatory. Anyone trying to hang on within the evacuation zones is foolish.
Gouging. My wife and I went to lunch yesterday and we saw the gas price jump 30 cents when we came out/.
