A lot of the new 0z models are now out. Out of all of them the most noticeable shift is with the HWRF which now has Galveston Bay lined up for a hit as well.
Pretty much the same thing forecast. As for when, from what I've heard, we should expect tropical storm force winds in the mid-afternoon tomorrow and hurricane force winds around midnight Friday lasting until noon on Saturday. We'll still have some wind through Sat afternoon.
but the pressure hasnt dropped, and its getting close to the coast, will decrease the chances of it increasing.
so the turn NW is going to be pretty late i see. the guys at eastern forum are seeing a lot of W movement. finally some data similarities.
does anyone have a good estimate on how strong the winds/category will be when it reaches land? these news stations are confusing me
really? its smells of mold because of alicia i've heard..lol not cat4. but cat 3 or strong cat 2 very likely
Surfside police putting up road barriers - some roads already experiencing flooding... 24+ hours out! -KHOU (ch. 11) My old high school football field might die.
I am in Leauge city right now. It is'nt one of the evac. areas. should i be pretty well off here if this hits as a strong 2?
Dude on ch.11 just pointed directly at Surfside... the animation went right over Surfside.. and he says, "High Island." Is he new?

Well... maybe, and probably yes. I'm familiar with Surfside... there are some road that literally touch the beach, like "Beach Avenue." The pavement touches the sand right where the beach houses sit... so it's probably those roads... But yeah... that's already several feet over normal. Is that Sarah Palin on Ch. 11?
