Well I just got to the Woodlands. Drive was incredibly smooth. We got off of I 45 just before we hit the massive traffic for Dallas.
From my understanding we have a limited amount of time to leave now right....so as to not be on the road when the winds are coming?
Its 1 am central.....god im a loser....ive spent way too long tracking this sucker... just my hunch but i think its gonna re-intensify between 10pm and 6am update...1am will show slight decrease in pressure and a more refined wall. question is what happens between 1-6am when the storm is rounding 3rd base and is deciding whether to barrel down the cathcer or try and slide smoothly in without getting tagged
Maybe just a wobble. Here's a nice satellite loop here. http://www.rap.ucar.edu/weather/sat...large&endDate=20080804&endTime=-1&duration=12
This hurricane is so freaking big. It's going to be windy for quite a while. I hope everyone is prepared for that.
wow, that thing is looking pretty healthy at the end there. massive storm, this is going to be pretty intense.
I just saw the latest satellite image - the storm is getting bigger - i guess the good news is that it might mean the winds won't increase. This is a really dangerous storm...i've never been through such a big one before - even Alicia had 110-115 winds but wasn't as massive by any means. guys be careful - this has the potential to be a massive rainmaker if it hangs out over land at all, and it could strengthen at any time and become a large and dangerous storm. also be prepared for tornados.
im predicting right now somewhere between surfside and freeport. only because of that wobble west. could make a huge difference.
How do your prepare for tornadoes other than having a spare pair of undies after you crap your pants?
ok i would have said it if it werent for the gulf thing....nevermind ill go ahead THATS WHAT SHE SAID!
this storm is looking really scary.... http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/tracking/at200809_sat.html#a_topad
