Some bigwhig judge in Ft Bend County is on Ch 2 now. He says there are only 3 gas stations in Mo City with gas left, and that the storm moved 23 miles East which should provide the area some relief. But that Saturday wouldn't be a good day....
they do...but they're not run until later...i was thinking the models would be run at 7 as well...apparently it's in about an hour that forecast hasn't changed because new model runs aren't in.
just depends on where landfall is. their problem could be wind...but not storm surge. if the current track holds it's galveston that's in the worst shape of all. very high surge.
it is far inland but that doesnt spare you from winds.... we're still going to get 80 mph winds if the track holds. im not believing that judge dude guy
the 4 pm track is tons better for you in ft. bend than the one that had it coming in at freeport. you're avoiding the storms that are in the northeast quadrant of the hurricane this way, it would seem...that's a good thing for you.
I have no clue. Just passing along what I hear man. Maybe govt officials get the scoop first. Hell, I don't know....
what is your thought on it shifting? is the new one gonna be significantly different due to the "break" it was trying to find?
i don't think so. i certainly don't know for sure. but it's still moving WNW. if it found the break, that last update would tell you it's moving NW. i think until you start seeing that WNW turn to NW you're looking at hurricane somewhere between freeport and galveston island. by this point with rita, the NW turn had been on for about 10 hours...and this one is moving just a bit faster, so there gets to be less time to turn. of course...it could all of a sudden just lunge north. who knows? these guys are taking their best guess...don't let anyone tell you they know for sure where a hurricane is going. way too many variables. you just take your best bet and be careful.,
At this point, is it safe to say that Corpus Christi is going to be spared from this storm? I'm looking in to booking a room for Corpus Christi and leaving tomorrow morning, but I'm a little nervous that this thing could change course and head west.
