I am Humor Challenged at times and don't grasp that at the moment. The SW & Continental links were intended for somebody else in this thread who had been very vocal about 9:15 pm arrivals still being completed while both of us argued against it.
Dude I am more than willing to payup and eat crow it would just be nice to get a flight number if I am gonna do it 36 hours before the time.
No, I had heard on television that SW was making some changes at Hobby and figured that Continental would do something similar. Went to both of their web sites and found the info. My methods remain the same even though this isn't the D&D. Run through several possible scenarios and then pick the one that makes the most sense. Find supporting documentation and it is done.
That's where I am, Harrisment. I'm starting to get a little worried too, but I think it's a bit late to leave now. The rest of my family scadaddled, but I'm sticking around to tend to the animals and do what I can for the house and the belongings if it starts flooding terribly. Hopefully it won't be as bad as it is sounding right now.
an F0 - F1 will do no more than cosmetic damage to your home.. and surroundings.. F2 would be more considerable.. but still you'd have a high chance of surviving.. just a lot more to repair.. I don't know what the percentages are... but I don't think Hurricanes are known for having a great possibility of unleashing F3-F5 tornadoes..
They are saying up to two weeks w/o power if we take a direct hit. Do cell phones work if there is no power in a whole city? Do the towers go out?
The thing I am most scared of is tornados. Alicia's eye ent right over our house (about 10 miles off the coast) and we just lost some shingles. I wasn;t scared very much even as a 3 year old. A tornado showed up in our backyard on a otherwise pretty clear day a few years later and demolished our barn,. That sucker sounded like the biggest train ever made int he world. I was really scared.
