"Why, IKE... whatever do you mean? Maybe poker's just not your game. I know! Let's have a spelling contest!!!!!"
that is very true, but it does bear watching from afar. The atmospheric conditions favor development and the chances are very good for it to come into the GOM. Keep a wary eye on it and go on with your life. Considering the amount of tropical activity we have right now and the fact that we are at the peak of the hurrican season, it might be a good idea to go ahead and make sure you have everything you need just in case, you can always eat the food and drink the water and keep the wood stashed for the future. I may not need it this season, but if something does happen....Ive got generator, full gas cans, a large container of potable water and plenty of food that can be made in a microwave just in case we do get hit. I don't evacuate unless its a monster(direct hit from a large Cat4 or 5) , so I have to be prepared to ride out any potential power outages.
Once the cycle of cool fronts start rolling into Texas, the tropical systems will be pushed elsewhere. That couldn't happen soon enough.
The computer models all seem to be pulling that way. The NHC hasn't changed their forecast track yet to include the new model runs.
