Rain started here in spring a few miles north of IAH a hour ago, ive had 2 power flickers in the last 5 mins, and cabled dropped for about 5 mins earlier.
I have to say, KHOU is pretty slick. Fancy set with HD screens all over the place, clean colors, great coverage and Dr. Frank. Alls they need is to bring over Dominique Sacsha to side anchor with Lucy...that would be sweet. I feel sorry for the Brennan's owner. That must suck so much...you think you get some water damage, but your whole place goes down in flames.
Yes it is. Mayor and Police Chief announced it at an afternoon press conference. Same thing for Sat. to Sun. night. BTW - Centerpoint reports 1,000,000 without power already.
Just lost all power here in Pasadena. I'm about to go to bed before the eye hits, so whatever. These winds are just crazy.
Tell me about it... I'm in Plano, north of Dallas, but I grew up in Lake Jackson. I am GLUED to the TXCN feed of KHOU up here.
The sensationalism by guys like Wayne Dul(sp?) is unreal, although every damn station keeps talking about how they aren't trying to be sensationalistic. It's all about pimping whatever they can. Sensationalism aside, I have to admit it is eery seeing the inside of the hurricane eye.
Just had a series of nasty power surges ... U-verse service was out for a little while and now it's back up again. I'm tethered to my cellphone for good now, no point depending on the wi-fi.
77008 just had a power flicker in the apartments. Keep hearing this exploding sound that we can't figure out. Nasty gusts out there, but so far power is holding pretty well. I'm hopped up on Theraflu so I'm struggling to pay attention.
I keep hearing these bumps on the house, don't know if its shingles or tiles, or even a branch. Also haven't had a light flicker or anything here in West University.
Not me man. I am in Austin. I'm just watching the ABC coverage on the internet where they are in the eye. Everyone else be safe and don't hesitate to retreat to higher ground.
