    Kansas and South Florida are tied at 34. Bout a minute to go. KU has it with about 80 yards in front of them

    Awesome. Unfortunately, as much as we try to manicure the ClutchFans arena, some weeds just pop up at the most inopportune times.

    how fast was the wind in houston during Rita?? Was it in the 60's?

    not much action here in uptown... of course as i type that the wind gusts a lot harder.

    It's not just the eye...a little help from above. Ike took in some dry air an hour ago and that has wraped around to the NE part of the eye wall.

    Rita was nothing (in Houston). Maybe a few gusts up to 25-30, but nothing sustained really at all.

    Good luck everyone, I've been pretty damn worried about my family and the city in general. I turned down going out with some friends to stare at hurricane coverage. :(

    This sucks.

    On Ch 2 they are saying that wind speeds are much lower than expected so far. Highest recorded in Galveston is only 70 mph. I hope the winds stay this low.

    Also that dry air is really making Ike's eye ragged. Could be why it's not packing as big of a punch as expected.
