miraculously, my power came back on after 2 hours. Wasnt expecting them to come back on until after the storm. What is a good radio station to be listening to for updates on Ike?
From River Oaks: Gusts of wind. No rain. My finely manicured lawn is looking forward to the rain, and my luxury SUV is safely stored away in my garage.
I know that Ch 2's news is being broadcast on 1560 AM. I don't remember which, but either ch 11 or ch 13 are broadcasting on 106.9 FM. 740 AM would be another good one.
^ this report from my amigo Jorge makes me VERY relieved. If anything happened to him...... Hang in there boys, we are all in it to win it. I am mildly drunk and my parents will not answer the phone, but they are on the NW side so I anticipate zero problems. In any event, once power is restored, I expect to see ALL of clutchfans ready to rock next week....or else............. SAM FISHER ESQUIRE.
I hope it comes to Austin, we have packed up our outside porch, and packed up all the furniture at our lakehouse too. We could use the rain and I would like my kids to see a bit of the wind......by the time it gets here it should be mild. DD
So i left earlier today, family and I are in Laredo,TX now. We went throught San Antonio and there was not a single hotel available. We finally found one room here at the Red Roof Inn. My girlfriend and her fam stayed back in Humble, luckily she still has power and some strong winds and rain. She said it comes and goes. I am hoping to get back to Houston asap. I left my car in the my driveway... I don't have a garage. Good luck to all of you guys riding it out. I'll be praying.
