One tiny flicker so far in the Heights - 77008. Otherwise, all good in the hood thus far.

Anyways, everything is still OK here in the Heights but the wind gusts are howling pretty loud. I can't imagine how this is going to sound in a few hours.

Still have power here in Barker Cypress/Clay Road in West Houston. Flickers but nothing too bad as of yet. Wind picks up occasionally....reports are that one lone guy stayed at Surfside. Just wow.

You can't plug in your laptop right now so that it is charging while you use it?

Glad I'm at the parents using AT&T then. No problems so far.

Starting to get those winds where you hear the roof creaking. Spooky.

I thought you were saying you were shutting it down so that you could charge it. I'm saying that laptops will charge while you are using them...assuming you have it plugged in.

Good lord the eye is HUGE! Isn't that odd? I thought the eye was usually a hell of a lot smaller.

If it's plugged in while your using it while the lights are still on, it won't start to lose its charge until the lights go out.

I wish everyone the best. We left from Pasadena last night. We didn't have any problem getting out 59 north. But we couldn't find a hotel room until we got out of Texas. Slept in Hope, Arkansas last night (at the worst motel in town, the rest were full), then on to the in-laws in Missouri. Be safe guys.

As long as you have the laptop plugged in, you will have 100% battery power until the power goes out, then you'll have the 1-3 hours depending on your system. So no need to shut it off unless you're just tired of being on the 'net.
