Anyways, everything is still OK here in the Heights but the wind gusts are howling pretty loud. I can't imagine how this is going to sound in a few hours.
Still have power here in Barker Cypress/Clay Road in West Houston. Flickers but nothing too bad as of yet. Wind picks up occasionally....reports are that one lone guy stayed at Surfside. Just wow.
welp, im about to power the laptop down. about three hours til the good (bad) stuff. i want to have power on the latpop when the lights are dead. kick ass, and stay safe.
I'm by the hindu temple in stafford, still power, cable and internet. its not about if we lose power, its about when.
I feel you man. My Tv reception is still clear though. I prey to lord at least my Tv reception stays put.
Glad I'm at the parents using AT&T then. No problems so far. Starting to get those winds where you hear the roof creaking. Spooky.
I thought you were saying you were shutting it down so that you could charge it. I'm saying that laptops will charge while you are using them...assuming you have it plugged in.
If it's plugged in while your using it while the lights are still on, it won't start to lose its charge until the lights go out. I wish everyone the best. We left from Pasadena last night. We didn't have any problem getting out 59 north. But we couldn't find a hotel room until we got out of Texas. Slept in Hope, Arkansas last night (at the worst motel in town, the rest were full), then on to the in-laws in Missouri. Be safe guys.
As long as you have the laptop plugged in, you will have 100% battery power until the power goes out, then you'll have the 1-3 hours depending on your system. So no need to shut it off unless you're just tired of being on the 'net.
That's great. Times like this really make you appreciate the guys that do all the hard work to keep things going for us.
