Nevermind. We're getting a very heavy band right now and the winds have REALLY picked up with this band.
Has anyone read any of the comments to the Washington Post article about Ike? http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/11/AR2008091101825.html Some unreal reactions from people in there.
Well I guess this is pretty commons sense stuff...but from Centerpoint's website: http://www.centerpointenergy.com/po...0VgnVCM10000001a10d0aRCRD&cpsextcurrchannel=1 I keep hearing up to 2-3 weeks without power...but I don't think you'd have to worry about that unless you're in the outlying, remote and hardest hit areas.
I'm in Katy. About 4 hours ago, we had about 15 flickers over a 30-min period. I've never seen anything like it. In past storms, I've had a flicker or two, maybe even three, but never anything like this. I have no idea what caused it since there was no rain and only a little wind at the time. We've had no issues since.
i'm thinking i'm a bit unprepared too. 24 pack of mini bottles of water. 3 large bottles of G2 2L of sparkling water. Loaf of wheat bread, jar of peanut butter and jelly, box of pop tarts and my friend just lost power near me so i'm heating up some TV dinners now and putting them in tupperware. I'll heat them up a bit every hour until I lose power. Have chips and bananas too. . When allison rolled thorugh I was stuck here for 2 days because water around me would not subside. I had enough food though that time. This time I should be okay but steady diet of PBJ's is not what I had in mind. real smart Mike.
yep lost it about a half hour ago along with my internet. still aint got it, thank god for a full DVR and a Wifi card btw...it may look like Baytown is getting hit, but its barely sprinkling, my downspout for the gutter is barely trickling.
Wow, expected tsunami-like 20-25 wave up the Houston Ship Channel around 1 a.m. Expected to cause over 100 billion dollars in damage in the Houston area. Quoting what Gov. Davis's hurricane damage assessment team were figuring on currently.
My parents said their cable tv is out in Deer Park, must be a wide spread thing with time warner. That's pretty effing hilarious though. A hurricane rolls in and my sattelite reception is still crystal clear but cable tv is out.
