does FEMA pay for a hotel if you don't have power? They keep telling people to not come back to houston.

i'm in beyond 9/22, and the centerpoint guy said 4 to 6 weeks at the LEAST. it is clearly evidenced by the amount of trees they will have to cut down and the ownage of power lines i've witnessed at the end of my street and at least 4 others next to mine.

They don't give a percentage for what <I>substantial power restoration</I> means. Just because a person already has power, it doesn't mean that there are enough customers with power in the same zip code to achieve the
mystery percentage threshold to achieve the <I>substantial power restoration</I> designation.

Still waiting on Comcast but hey, it's a luxury and a lot of people are still without power. I'm not complaining.

The houses across the street from me had power for a little over a minute on Sunday. Then we heard a loud electrical noise and the power was out again. I'm in the "after September 22" group. :(

not a whole hell of a lot

I just looked and judging by my running around today, the 77521 area code is MUCH more litup than Centerpoint thinks. I can understand 77520 since that is old Baytown down on the Bay and around the main bayous that sustained some pretty good flooding.

Im not complaining since my power is back, but one would hope they could double-check that before posting it since people are relying on it to get a good idea when power will return.

Now if I can just get damn Comcast to get my cable back up, kinda hard to e-commute when your business line is down. There is only so much time I can eat up doing physical restoration, eventually I *will* need my business line up or our electronic work will suffer.
