Kobe has always taken jumpshots. The difference between he and Tracy is that Kobe is actually a good shooter.

It's actually the Michael Jordan school of basketball. It's to prolong his career. Mcgrady's jumper is broke.

Agreed totally. Plus, it's not like Kobe can't still drive or take over games with his athletic ability alone. He's just molding himself into a perimeter sniper in that triangle offense after all those years of taking abuse driving to the basket. Hell, what do we all think LeBron is going to look like down the road?

Not sure, I think LeBron will eventually break down, but he is much more well-built than alot of players. He's like a big RB/FB, I think he might be able to do it a little longer than Tracy and KObe.

No, the MJ school of basketball is to shoot lot's of midrange jumpers, not tons of contested long ones (even though Kobe does seem to hit them more than often).

I don't necessarily feel he'll break down. I just think he'll grow tired of all the abuse he takes going to the basket and "transform" himself into more of perimeter player by improving his mid/long-range game. His mid-range game seems to be improving already. If you pull up his HotSpots he's hitting 46% from one of the elbows and is 40% or better from two other mid-range areas. I sense those percentages will only go up during the course of his career.

But LeBron takes more abuse than either guy because he gets hit harder because of his strength. Some of the shots are vicious. No doubt LeBron will add more perimeter shooting to his offense. He probably won't break down any more than Kobe; both guys are sturdy and tough, in contrast to McGrady.
