That leaves us with Brooks Richardson Battier Scola Amare Lowry/Landry/C-bud bench. Flip Scola for a young talent/pick if a deal comes along.
Dude, as if right now the vote is not even close 84.7%for Iggy/Dalembert compared to 15.2% for Martin/Nocioni, I guess its Iggy/ Dalembert..... --RB
I want Martin and Nocioni.......because if Yao is back, I think Kmart fits better with him. And Nocioni can play some stretch 4.... DD
I haven't been a member long, but I have been told of his "insider"-like status. Believe me I hope he has some encrypted message in there about us getting Iggy and Dalembert. That would be a fantastic trade in my book.
hard to believe it but I agree with DD. People fail to realize Yao is (hopefully) coming back next season. we need a perimeter scoring threat and Iggy SUX from outside. He's inefficient as a shooter period. Noci is a great asset and both contracts are not cap hindering.
Look at Wade and Shaq.. Its worth a try, but Martin will be more injuryprone, and thats a big reason people didnt like t-mac.. and arent we tired of that?
With what we have been through in the Yao/McGrady era, I am going with Iggy for his durability alone. I am tired of "superstars" getting paid to sit out the entire season.
I think we need a play maker next to Yao, which Iggi is. People are so obsessed with Martin's perimeter play that they give him a free pass on everything else, especially passing and defense. Yao and Iggi would be fine if we have perimeter players like Brooks, Battier, and Bud next to them. Not to mention our other bigs (landry, Scola, Anderson) can all knock down a jumper too. Now imagine Iggy driving with Brooks, Battier, Landry, and Yao in the game. Do you help on Iggy or leave a shooter open?
The question shouldn't be what we get Martin for...but why should the Kings take Tmac?? They don't need Tmac on their team.
The OP should have added a third option: Let T-Mac expire, retain Scola/Lowry and add MLE and LLE free agents Because if you take Iguodala/Dalembert, you can basically kiss goodbye to Scola, Lowry and a possible impact free agent via the MLE (and maybe even a decent veteran with the LLE). You also probably don't see Les buying picks and/or throwing much money into offseason trades, either, since he'll be paying one hell of a luxury tax bill next year thanks to Dalembert. If you take Martin/Nocioni, you have a better chance at retaining Scola and/or Lowry, but you probably don't see Morey use the MLE on a significant player. I'm not necessarily saying that neither of the poll options is palatable, just that they come at a price.
Would trading for Martin/Nocioni really mean losing Scola though? That combo is about $6.5M cheaper than Iggy/Delambert next season, which may give us enough room under the tax to fit Scola.
