Why bank on players of such high calibur to try to sign? It ain't happening Oklahoma will match any teams offer i gaurantee it!! And this is what this trade indicates? Just because we have available free cap cash, don't mean it's a sure thing to land the player.

Butler is a better trade asset to another team than Brooks is. You say this as if Butler is a bad player, he's a lateral upgrade move trading for bigger player.

Certainly... Have you guys been watching Elton Brand? He has a swagger about him... Stat watchers please don't respond...

Add Andre Iguodala and Elton Brand and I believe we are contenders...
We should also take Lou Williams, than we don't have to worry about re-signing Kyle or Luis...

The problem is it's Les's money. If he is willing to take on bad contracts and go over LT to keep Lowry etc, I'm all for the trade. But if he is more concerned about his money, this is a bad trade. Losing two key players and cap space for Iggy's long term contract isn't the way to build a championship team.

Iggy+Brand+Lou and the Sixers draftpick is VERY intriguing... Brand and Lou would make losing Scoly and Kyle not SO bad...

HELL NO that would be trade one problem to another team!

If They can't win with that combo what makes you think we can?

They are all locked up for 4 years making a total of $33 to $38 mil.

Because we have Aaron Brooks, Yao Ming and Carl Landry...

And a top 5 draftpick... A shot at John Wall...

so two guys in the entire NBA that could possibly be playing the 2 in Houston for Iguodala $ @ Iguodala production

of course neither of them are headed ANYWHERE

and of course there's Devin Harris who can't rebound or shoot as well as Iguodala, but he does make less $ and probably wouldn't provide any solutions at the 2 anyway

I used to clown Lakers fans for practically choosing Kwame Brown over Butler. Then they ended up landing Gasol for Brown!

Very nice post. The team's best chance at significantly improving the roster is through a trade, and that's why I think that's what Morey will do sometime in the next couple of weeks. There's too much risk involved in waiting, and the chance we could get a significant upgrade this summer is slim. The Rockets have more control over the situation by making a move now. I like your thinking on Martin and Nocioni. Makes sense from several standpoints. I'd support an Iggy/Dalembert trade, too.

    that's a nice list. but it's not like we're getting all-stars, right?

I'd choose Iggy over all of those players for the Rockets, considering the fact that Yao Ming would already have been signed back.

Iggy fits the bill in consideration of Yao's return and everything else. What I like most is that he can drive & dunk.

I mean, it's not like dunks are THAT great. Even a short guy like AB can dunk.

But it has it's mental effects, and it's contagious. As a Rockets fan, I like it when other teams are getting dunked on by us. It takes away the pain that I feel watching others dunk on Yao as if it's at the top of the to-do lists of all-stars.
