No lies, imo, our roster looks really nice...almost everybody is so talented.....

If you were the coach, how would you play the players, what positions, what kind of line-ups (who goes with who) and how many mins? Who do you think should get more or less?

Ron- if you are reading this, mention in like a hint or whatever you do about whether you would want to be a starter or a 6th man..........

    G Rafer Alston
    F Ron Artest
    G Brent Barry
    F Shane Battier
    G Aaron Brooks
    F Joey Dorsey
    G Steve Francis
    F Chuck Hayes
    G Luther Head
    F Carl Landry
    G Tracy McGrady
    F-C Luis Scola
    G D.J Strawberry
    G Von Wafer
    C Yao Ming

    Starting 5
    Yao Ming
    Luis Scola
    Ron Artest
    Tracy McGrady
    Rafer Alston

    Line up 2
    Joey Dorsey
    Carl Landry
    Shane Battier
    Brent Barry
    Aaron Brooks

    I would sub in Rafer with Barry; for Yao would be Landry;
Running a small line-up would be
    Landry
    Hayes
    Artest
    Barry
    Brooks

It's very hard to find time for Von Wafer, D.J Strawberry, Luther Head

If...if...if...T-Mac does sit-out for longer time- than Von Wafer would come in and help us offensively.
    Yao
    Scola
    Artest
Wafer or i would actaully play Barry, but since we have Alston, Barry could
    Alston come in for Alston

That's just all what i "think"...it might not be good...but that's what i think would work...tell me how you guys would work this big nice roster~

    Starters

    Alston
    T-Mac
    Artest
    Scola
    Yao

Battier, Barry, Brooks, and Landry would be my regulars in the rotation.
Scola would shift to center when Yao is out unless I bring in Mutombo or Dorsey for spot minutes. Hayes would also see a few minutes.

Head and Francis most likely won't see the light of day unless we're up 20+ in the 4th.

    My favorite lineup by far
    T-Mac
    Battier
    Artest
    Scola
    Yao

I like going big. I don't do the small ball thing. Still though if I see a matchup that favors us Artest can slide over to PF for a few and bring in Alston or Barry.

I'd also prefer to play Brooks in tandem with Brent Barry. Since Brooks is more of a scorer and Barry is a good facilitator.

With a healthy roster, I'd only play 8 guys, with Hayes making it 8 1/2 for some defensive assignments when Yao's in. They work really well together.

Rafer, Mac, Artest, Scola, Yao start.
Barry, Battier and Landry off the bench. All 8 of those guys have to play at least 25 minutes. They're too efficient not to play that many minutes.

    PG - Rafer
    SG - T-Mac
    SF - Battier
    PF - Scola
    C - Yao

    Bench

    Barry
    Brooks
    Artest
    Landry

I think Artest coming off the bench will be a good weapon to have if we are in a funk. He is a dependable scorer coming off the bench.

    Scoring lineup:

    PG - Rafer
    SG - T-Mac
    SF - Battier
    PF - Artest
    C - Yao

There have been a lot of threads like this, but I find it interesting that so many of you have Hayes out of the rotation. Morey said yesterday that Hayes will play 5-25 minutes a game depending on matchups.

I like Battier starting with Yao. I loved how Artest tried to get Yao involved early in preseason games but I'd rather have Artest be at a scoring mind-set when he's on the court.
If Artest comes from the bench, he will have more touches.
Of course, to finish, I'd have all three: Artest, Tmac, and Yao on at the same time.

    PG: Alston (28), Brooks (12), Barry (6), McGrady (2)
    SG: McGrady (30), Barry (10), Head (8)
    SF: Battier (24), Artest (24)
    PF: Landry (25), Scola (15), Hayes (5), Artest (3)
    C: Yao (30), Scola (10), Hayes (6), Mutombo (2)

    Player total:
    Starters
    Alston 28
    McGrady 32
    Battier 24
    Landry 25
    Yao 30

    Bench
    Artest 28
    Scola 25
    Barry 16
    Brooks 12
    Hayes 11
    Head 8
    Mutombo 2

Basically, I'd use an 8-man rotation (Artest, Scola, and Barry the main bench guys) with Brooks and Hayes getting spot minutes.

This is almost exactly what I was going to post, except I would've included Hayes.

I'm pretty sure that this is how it's gonna work, too. Unless it takes too long for Shane to get back and Artest is already cemented in his spot once he recovers from the injury.

    My Team

Starters (This lineup eliminates slow starts)
    Yao
    Tmac
    Artest
    Landry
    Rafer

    Bench (Dudes that actually play)
Scola - plays better w/o Tmac on the floor and can run with 2nd unit
    Battier
    Brooks
    Barry
    Hayes, don't trust Dorsey yet

Never see the floor except if up by 30 plus (sometimes in suits)
    Dorsey - Uniform
Harris (Head has had more chances to get it right than anyone on this team) - street clothes
    Von - Uniform
    DJ - street clothes
Francis or Deke - Don't care which one. - Street clothes until Yao gets hurt

    Brooks/Francis
    Barry/Wafer
    Artest
    Landry
    Hayes/Scola/Mutombo

    Lockdown defense:
    Strawberry
    Tmac
    Battier
    Artest
    Yao/Hayes/Dorsey/Mutombo

    Small Ball / Fastbreaking team:

    Brooks
    Wafer/Strawberry
    Tmac

Hoping to trade Head to free spots for Wafer and Strawberry :)

    PG: Alston (25)/Brooks (15)/SF (8)
    SG: Tmac (32)/Barry (10)/ Head (6)
    SF: Battier (24)/Artest (24)
    PF: Scola (22)/Landry (22)/Hayes (4)
    C: Yao (32)/ Dorsey (8)/ Deke (8)

and if you can ship Head - great, give the 6 mins to Von or Straw

resign Deke (if he'll take the min) o/w move Dorsey to 10-12 mins and let Hayes (or Landry) cover the remaining mins runnin some small ball.

I'd also consider letting Tmac bring the ball up at point and have Artest cover SG. With Battier, Scola/Landry, and Yao.... anything that keeps that 'tard Rafer off the court is a good thing!
