If you were Morey, which one would you choose? Dampier or Fesenko?

Dampier easily, not because he is the best overall commitment we could make, but because Utah would simply match our offer and we won't be able to sign either then.

If Miller goes down are any of you willing to go back to Hayes as our center for 24 minutes a game? Oh, and don't tell me Hill would be the center, Hayes will get first dibs on minutes at backup center, guaranteed.

If we make an offer to Fesenko and he takes it (he probably will just to get the ball rolling) then Damp will go to the Bucks and we'll be stuck with what we have which is risky IMO.

Oh, and reason we won't be looking into Mbenga or some other low level center for insurance is because Morey likes to go into the season with 14 players on the roster, that way if someone gets injured he can call up someone to take their place.

    1. Brooks
    2. Lowry
    3. Smith
    4. Martin
    5. Lee
    6. Taylor
    7. Battier
    8. Budinger
    9. Jeffries
    10.Scola
    11.Hill
    12.Patterson
    13.Hayes
    14.Yao
    15.Miller

That's not even counting Johnson, Harris, and any of the other camp fodder we signed.

If we sign another player it will be at the expense of Smith probably. Dampier > Smith

I think Dampier would be a good immediate choice, but if you consider the age/health of our bigs for the future, it's not a good look. Also if we were to sign either of them, the roster looks awfully overcrowded at this point.

Ive been thinking the same thing... our name has been everywhere in possible signings etc.. feels like we've got to add someone new to our roster before the season. It is, indeed, very cool.

I think Fes is the way to go. Dude is just a kid but with so much potential. Not just 7-1 2 something but 300lbs !!! He's Colossus from X-Men.

I like Fesenko but but Damp is a much better fit. This team is designed for a center who can rebound and kick the ball back out while getting some blocks and generally taking up space around the basket. Fes game is different and the team itself would have to adjust considerably.

Yeah, but I don't know if he's willing to come off the bench.

Getting word Fesenko has passed on HOU offer and will sign one-year deal with UTAH worth just over 1 mil and be in Jazz camp tomorrow
