I love the extrapolation extreme schemes. I'd have done the Howard for James trade, LAST year. Keeping it at '06-'07 GM, I'd draft Rudy Gay, no Battier on the team (no Sefalosha crap). Eh, I'da drafted Novak sure (Paul Davis next in line). I'd have done the Kirk Snyder move. I'd have done the supposed Lucas for Kleiza move. it'd be: Rafer/James/Head/Spanoulis McGrady/Snyder Gay/Bonzi/Novak Hayes/Stromile Swift (yeehks!)/Kleiza Yao/Deke/Jake T-Saks Screwed before we even get to '07-'08. Spanoulis would have still hated Van Gundy's lies and the chance of getting Scola would still be there. As would getting Landry and Brooks since they were both considered reaches, but I'da probably botched it with some Tiago Splitter draft pick or something lame like that. So it'd be cut Spanoulis, draft Tiago, thats it. *oops, pressed submit instead of preview* Anyways, I'd have resigned Chuck for sure. Would have gotten Steve Francis. It was big surprise at the time but not so much now looking back since he WANTED to go to Houston. Rafer would not have made it to the pre-season roster. I'd have brought Deke back for his awesome stretch when Yao went down...Why even go on. I probably wouldnt have gotten Adelman either so the team would be total sh#tsvilles.
If i were GM i would immediately quit and hand the reins to Morey. Seriously tho, I would've traded Tmac + 1st for Villanueva + Redd + 1st assuming we were playing like crap during December. I remember the Blazers offering Outlaw + 1 other player Frye I believe for Battier in the offseason. Would've pulled the trigger immediately. Would've drafted Big Baby - we needed size. Fazekas also would look good. Scola no brainer. JHo for James no brainer. Francis - low risk high reward no brainer. Not resign Mutombo. Resign Hayes part of the MLE. Keep Harris, move Head + Novak + Snyder if possible for 2nd rounders + TE. Keep Alston. Keep Bonzi.
