If I was GM I would ask Clutch for a list of CC members and let you all come and hang out with me at Toyota Center.
I am not sold on this kid. He does have potential but so did Sam Bowie. Durants numbers don't lie. Show me that last player to put up his numbers against the same type of competition. If I am holding the first pick, I draft Durant, the sky is the limit for this kid, and hope Oden turns out to be Emeka Okafor.
How about a trade for Tim Duncan? Closest thing to perfect currently in this league. This guy won with DRob and Co. and now is doing it again with a complete overhaul of their roster. Let's go for a threepeat.
Well said. TMac is better suited to the SF position, instead of chasing around quick SGs on defense and getting tired. Battier is our one true tradeable asset. Plus getting his contract off the books for 2010-2011 frees up more cap space for the summer of 2010 when LeBron or Wade can opt out and become unrestricted free agents. If we plan according, we should have enough room under the cap to make a run at signing a superstar to pair with a 30 year old Yao in his prime.
What would our bench be with this team? Anyway, I think what this team needs to do is sign Francis after his contract is bought out and convince Wells to stay. Hopefully, Adelman can develop some of the guys that were rotting to the bench while Gumby was here in Snyder, Novak, and Spanoullis. We are still in desperate need for a competent starting 4 and we should address that in the draft. But if we can convince Bonzi to stay and get Francis (cheaply) and draft smart, I'll be happy.
Maybe if they throw in David Lee and we throw in Sura's mostly voidable contract. Not sure if Isiah takes on Juwan, however, because David Falk is his agent.
What makes it common knowledge? Because the papers and the radio said it was so. The same newspaper and radio that reported it was common knowledge that JVG always wanted to come back. Even though JVG's comments in those same newspapers during the season and after game 7 indicated that he in fact had not made up his mind? Or at the very least was toying with the Rockets. Did Morey hold some secret press conference only for the Houston based fans and told you guys that he really did prefer JVG over RA? I can speculate like anyone. Couldn't Morey had really prefered Adelman after the interview but leading up to the interview was willing to let JVG come back but only if he made it perfectly clear that he (jvg) wanted to come back...which he did not. And BTW, last year weren't we all calling the Battier trade a JVG move? Now it's a Morey move? Maybe its both who knows and who cares...Houston now has a better coach.
I agree with everything except I would definitely keep Battier, no matter what. I am wondering, does anyone think Kirilenko might be available? Even though he helped Utah beat Houston, it seems like he and Sloan are not getting along, and he gets a lot of money for someone averaging 8.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.9 apg in 29.3 minutes... but if we are serious about making a run at a championship...? Utah could save a lot of money... Houston Trade Breakdown Outgoing Juwan Howard 6-9 PF from Michigan 9.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.6 apg in 26.6 minutes Bob Sura 6-5 from Florida State No games yet played in 2006/07 Luther Head 6-3 PG from Illinois 10.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.4 apg in 27.6 minutes Incoming Andrei Kirilenko 6-9 SF from Russia (Foreign) 8.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.9 apg in 29.3 minutes Change in team outlook: -12.3 ppg, -4.3 rpg, and -1.1 apg. Utah Trade Breakdown Outgoing Andrei Kirilenko 6-9 SF from Russia (Foreign) 8.3 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.9 apg in 29.3 minutes Incoming Juwan Howard 6-9 PF from Michigan 9.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 1.6 apg in 26.6 minutes Bob Sura 6-5 from Florida State No games yet played in 2006/07 Luther Head 6-3 PG from Illinois 10.9 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.4 apg in 27.6 minutes Change in team outlook: +12.3 ppg, +4.3 rpg, and +1.1 apg. Successful Scenario Due to Houston and Utah being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Houston and Utah had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Then, IF Francis gets bought out, pick him up...sign Grant Hill and Webber for the vet's minimum (their chance to get a ring). Trade John Lucas for a draft pick New team: PG: Francis (20), Alston (14), Spanoulis (14) SG: T-Mac (36), Francis (12) SF: Kirilenko (20), Hill (10), Battier (18) PF: Webber (16), Kirilenko (14), Battier (8), Hill (6) Hayes (4) C: Yao (36), Webber (8), Mutombo (4) IR: Novak, Snyder, Tsakalidis Okay, I am mostly kidding...but if we could get Francis, Hill and/or Webber for cheap, I think it could help a lot...
rafer alston and JHO combined over 11million, must get rid of as for the rest outside of yao tmac, battier, everyone is movable. Players that are worth some development are novak and vspan. JakeT can be back up center, deke is too old and too slow next yr so he is not needed. As for JL3, sura, synder, and bonzi, the team can play with or without them but i prefer alittle useful upgrade than having so many useless players
