Sherlock: No offense is taken. Actually, I enjoy when someone who is an insider like ROCKET!!!, pops, Clutch, or Doc Rocket (but not TroyBaros) posts to answer questions of mine or tells me juicy tidbits. I look at it like this: if we can find out things here that would take months to uncover at other places, then that is one of the best, if not the best, thing about this BBS and website. I have to agree with ROCKET!!! about T-Mo. He is terrible and was not worthy of us losing a draft pick. I'll ask this question since I saw it earlier but it has yet to be answered: ROCKET!!! - Do you or anyone else know what Oscar Torres' role is going to be with the Rockets for next season? He seemed to play well when given the opportunity, but then the inexperience caught up with him and he faltered. Later, he got buried on the bench with the likes of Langhi and Collier. I think OT proved that he is better than those 2 jabronis and needs another look.
1. Draft Ming 2. Try the hardest to trade up in the draft and pick Nachbar. Nachbar will not last to 15. (of course if he do, all the power to Rockets for staying at 15). Moving up to the 8-10 range should do the trick. (I have Nachbar going #10) 3. Get to the playoffs
1. Draft Ming 2. Do your best to acquire a top-flight sf. Dunleavy would be my first choice (imo, will be a better 3 than butler), but odom, lewis or butler(at 6-6, will have some trouble at the 3, and i feel will eventually have to more to the 2) would be great too. 3. Hope the team stays healthy
1) DRAFT MING! 2) Find a way to get Nene Hilerio. Maybe a trade with the Clippers for Odem + #8 pick for #15 pick + Rice + Cato + Mo Taylor or Kenny Thomas (whatever needs to be done to get rid of the excess baggage). Hilerio will not last pass the 10th pick. He is a banger. (4 or 5) 5 - Ming; Hilerio 4 - Odem; KT 3 - Griffin; Morris 2 - Catino; Torres 1 - Francis; Norris + who ever is left over from the Odem trade (Rice/Cato/Taylor) The Rockets are missing a rebounder and a little muscle to start the break. Ming gives some rebounding and shot blocking. Hilerio gives rebounding and an inside presents. Odem will throw some good parties.
MR, Torres...don't really know. My guess is it is a wait and see how the roster develops. Maybe backup if none other available. Honestly, focus has not been on existing assets as all are deamed expendable except the 5 named in the other thread.
So Rocket!!!...it sounds as if the Rockets coaches are focusing on getting Griffin to learn some good post moves. Does this mean we as fans can look forward to much more low post action by Eddie this coming season? Oh please please please say 'Yes'.
Is he working out with other Rockets (like Mobley, since they're both Philly guys), with a trainer, or just on his own?
Things I would do: 1. get serious about drafting Ming. 2. listen to all offers, and see how far they are willing to go. Yes, all the way til draft day. If Ming is drafted, try to trade KT + the 15 to move up and nab a potential stud sf, like Woods, Butler, Dunleavy, and esp Niko Niko Niko. Steep price but could be worth it. If no trade to be had, draft best player available at 15, preferably a sf. Then try to lure Rashard with the MCE ThingsI would NOT do: 1. not explore drafting Ming 2. trade the pick for someone who isn't a low post presence. 3. draft someone not worthy of the #1 (Butler, Dunleavy, etc) with the first pick 4. tell teams there will be no trade discussion for the top pick.
About MoT, I saw him shooting around at Westside when either Butler or Gooden's group of prospects were working out. I don't think he was up 70 lbs, didn't look that closely though
1. Draft Ming [after muscling SOMETHING out of chicago - 2nd rounder next year. . .crawford. . .cash . . something] 2. Trade the #15 and MoT for Mike Miller Rocket River
