A valid point about injury. However, Iverson's contract has the same length as Francis and he will on average make $5.6m more per year than Francis. But he will put people in the seats in ATL and will only be 34 in the final year of his contract.

And unlike Philly, the Hawks will have a boatload of capspace once Brandon comes off of their books. With Iverson but w/o Brandon, the Hawks have nearly $10m in cap space.

    HD-
I think the point was that with the Wallace/Person trade ATL [c]can[/u] let Wallace walk. I believe the Hawks GM is on record as saying that all options would be pursued with an emphasis on cheap first and quality second. IOW, it doesn't make sense to turn down an offer for a Wallace SnT if the SnT incoming player is better than what is available to you in the FA market.

That's enough for him to want to come here? I don't believe Cat will even be a Rock after nest week. Otherwise, how to play SF and not use him as the full time PG?

GATER, no question that's the key.

That's why in a different thread I proposed a Mobley+Nachbar+(conditional 1st rounder)+TE for Wallace. In this scenario we still have Francis. That would give the Hawks quality players on the cheap versus losing Wallace for nothing.

ATL now has the 'command' position with RW -- if Wallace does not bolt for someone's cap space or MLE. So, how ATL & sheed proceed will be interesting, any very unknown at this time.

Any GM that gives Sheed a max extension at this point is a moron. The guy is carrying more baggage than bellhop during Super Bowl week. Not to mention that many think he was the main negative influence of the Blazers. If sheed were on this team, expect Yao to miss some games after getting beaned in the head by a fastball courtesy of Wallace.

I agree, and is EB, Elton Brand? I can't imagine Wallace and JVG getting along.
