The Lake District... it's beautiful, isn't it? I loved it. I've always wanted to live in Amsterdam part of the year. My wife has several relatives there and the location is great for going by train to almost anywhere in Europe. By plane as well, now that I think of it. It's such a liberal, open society and the Dutch are so friendly. Most speak English, some better than I do. My kids could learn Dutch. I learned some from living there several months. It's not that hard. There's a lot of English mixed up in it. Maybe it would be better to live in a small town or city close by instead. Maybe, maybe no.
Switzerland, most likely Zurich. I miss the place so much (switzerland). Lugano is kind of like houston, the big variety of good food....hmmm. This is the kind of stuff I used to see out of my window/off my balcony... Now all I see of my new balcony is a parking lot. This sucks....
Houston Isolated piece of land on Ocean front, prefer Pacific. Anywhere in Europe or Japan would be cool to try also. Sydney sounds interesting.
Except for like the mountains and stuff, and the fact that it doesn't cost 10 bucks in Houston for a Big Mac.
Some of us get it. I would think that those of us named Ludwig would especially understand it. <br> My choice: Sydney, Australia (or maybe somewhere in New Zealand) -- droxford
Anyone saying New York can sublet my apartment RIGHT NOW. Anything to get me the f*** outta here. (My lease runs through July). My choices: 1) Florida (Clearwater, Tampa, the Keys, Palm Beach, etc. - as long as I'm ON the beach) 2) Austin, TX 3) San Diego, CA 4) Seattle, WA 5) Dallas, TX I'm just not an international guy. I went on a 2-week European trip after college and was "America-sick" after the first week alone.
I would love to live in the following locals: 1) London (Single) 2) Singapore (Single) 3) Houston (Married)
If not New York, maybe San Fran if I had to stay in the US. If not, maybe London, Paris, Hong Kong or San Sebastian, Spain. (below)
The Florida Keys. Likely Marathon or Pine Key, where I spent almost a month on vacation at. The house we stayed at was on the channel with a pier, jacuzzi and three bedrooms. The kids could go out at night on the pier and look at the brightly colored parrot fish and tarpons attacted by the lights. The weather is warm, the atmosphere tranquil and the fishing outstanding. Add spiny lobster season to the mix (I caught some and we enjoyed the goodness) and you have paradise. Demerits would be occasional hurricanes, but we have tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, snow and ice storms here in the N. GA mountains, so everything balances out.
London I've never been there, but it is a dream of mine to be able to move there for a few years then come back. SJC....how do you get to move around so much? I envy you!
