They don't have Bynum. All they have is Kobe and Gasol, and it drops off from there. Odom is talented, but he's not really a PF and I expect Scolandry to more than stand up to him.

    The matchups will probably be

    kobe-Battier
    Gasol-Yao Ming
    Odom-Scolandry
    Ariza-Artest
    fisher-Ab0

Kobe is greater than Battier, and Gasol and Yao Ming are probably equal, but we make up for it by Artest vs Ariza, and Ab0 on Fisher. Seems like a toss up to me :)

Our only problem is coaching. PJ is heads and shoulders above Rick Adelman. Like 9 rings above lol.

Tracy was playing on ONE leg! of course he's not gonna be able to play to his full potential! jeez, you guys expect him to be invincible or something, how about you go and get two surgeries, have some missing cartilages, and come play some basketball. when tmac is healthy, he is a beast! the rockets have won ALOT more games with tmac playing, than when tmac doesn't play through his rockets career. this season is an acception because he just wasn't healthy enough. he should have thought about surgery and rehab way in the beginning so he could come back and help us now. a healthy tmac is a top ten player in the league, for damn sure!

I don't understand this illusion of being a better team with a semi-healthy Tracy McGrady...

Just a bunch of Fater Haters out there...

The ball movement and team play has been much better since he's been gone... not to mention the defense has improved and the playing rotations are getting developed. I'm not a FATER but I don't want him back this year at all.

Maybe if he's 100% healthy going into training camp and is committed to learning and playing as a team then... Maybe.

No surprise at all. We all know Tmac will not do the surgery and will be back soon.

sorry, i never realized this thread is about a SEMI-healthy mcgrady...

and a big NO NO from me. no, thanks. we've already seen what a semi-healthy mcgrady could do to this team, all season long. and it's something that is not good.

    so, say no to drugs.

The OP is right... Even though I'm really not sure what to think of McGrady's current situation, the FACT is that we are better off with McGrady, especially int the playoffs. As long as he's anywhere *close* to healthy.

For $21 million a year, a semi healthy super star is unacceptable. Soryy if that makes me a little crazy.

Tracy, has to be commited to a team first attitude. If the team plays better defense and offense with a certain style of play, then he needs to adjust his game to that. Thats what Kobe has learned to do and he is the best in the League. Kobe plays team ball for 3 1/2 quarters and then the last 6 minutes of the 4th he finishes the game off with his exceptional skills. What I got against T-mac is it seems like he his to good to play Adelmans share the ball style and he fights the system and influences the players to play his style not the coaches. The fact of the matter is the team is not that good to play his style.

Obviously he has had a terrible year mentally and physically. His knee hasn't been right all season and his confidence in his play seems shattered as well. I really think he might be done as an NBA player, especially if he has surgery on his knee. That being said, hypothetically an 06-07 or an 07-08 Tracy would elevate this team to a true title contender. He was never an efficient scorer, but he had an elite talent in breaking down defenses and making his teammates better. Before this season, he was never referred to as selfish. As it stands now, the ceiling for this team is the 2nd round, given they have a favorable matchup in the 1st rd.

Were I coach, these would be the ironclad conditions I'd present Tracy with:

    1. Before return, you will have to be one of the 3 hardest working guys in practice going all out for a week.

    2. You have to play the first 3 games of your return off the bench with restricted (20 minutes) minutes, and earn your return to the starting lineup with your play.

    3. You have to play hard on defense for those first 3 games before you will be reinstated as one of the primary options on offense.

    4. You will have to demonstrate that you can slash to the rim consistently before will be reinstated as one of the primary options.

    5. 5-17 shooting nights will no longer be tolerated. You will be yanked out of the game and benched.

    6. 4th quarters where you do nothing but launch inadvisable 3s and contested long 2s will no longer be tolerated.

If he can't do those things, if he has to "save his knee" by coasting on D and relying on outside jumpers on offense, he needs to stay home.
