If the Texans fire Kubiak, how should they handle the coordinators?

  1. Keep them both

    12.9%
  2. Keep Bush Only

    12.9%
  3. Keep Shanahan Only

    15.1%
  4. Fire them all!

I say let Kubiak go and keep everyone else on an interim basis. Doesn't matter which of the coordinators is interim coach to me as this is just a way to pave the way for our next coach to start fresh and not take another head coaches job. It seems Cower is not interested in a team which has a current head coach and maybe other top-notch candidates feel similar.

You keep kyle shannahan and Marciano. Marciano is one of the best at ST and Kyle has a bright future as a head coach.

If Kubiak goes, his staff is not staying.

At least 90% of them will be gone, if not more.

Yeah, not many of them anyway. I think Hoke (former DB coach) and Marciano were the only survivors of the Capers era.

Keep Kirksey, Holland, and Marciano for sure. They are all highly regarded as position coaches.

Hopefully they'd keep Bruce Matthews around. I don't see why not. Other than that, everyone else would depend on the new coach. I hope Bush stays, and if he did most of the defensive staff might stay. Not sure if Rhodes would stick around though.

Gibbs would definitely be gone, and I think Shanahan too. I think Kyle would go join his dad wherever he goes, or maybe go back to QB coach if Kubiak lands a coordinator job.

Most of Kubiak's staff are on very good terms with him, so I wouldn't expect half of them to stay.

Although, I do kind of hope Frank Bush, David Gibbs and obviously GM Rick Smith stays. Bush to me should have taken over in the previous season, Gibbs staying might convince Pollard to stay and Smith has just been good at getting us quality players and guys the coaches want.

excellent point. this was a huge point of contention for me last season. If we knew richard smith was blowing it and was going to be fired, and you thought you had your new d-coordinator on staff, why not put him in place during the season? You would have had a trial run on the new scheme and had an evaluation period prior to the off-season.

Poor decision on the Texan's part. Even though I like Bush (and really, who doesn't), Gregg Williams is looking pretty good right now.
