There will come a time when Yao declines to play for the CNT in some minor tournaments.

But, I really like that he plays for the CNT, he is such a classy guy, and it is refreshing to see a man honor his country.

How many US players opt out of playing for selfish reasons, like vacationing in Mexico?

I will support Yao no matter what, and when we signed him, we knew the deal......

I don't think the CNT has had anything to do with his injuries these last couple of years....2 were freak injuries where he was stepped on, or bumped into and this last one was wear and tear.....but not from playing on the CNT, but for the Rockets.

No way would I ask big Yao to stay out of the Olympics in his home country....

    No way, no how...

    Go big YAO !

The Rockets organization would probably never hold him out anyways. Him playing for China and supporting his country is, in a way, great for the Rockets organization, and I feel like there's a tacit agreement between the Rockets and Yao that he just does what he wants for China, and there's not much stopping him. I'd let him play. I'd let Zydrunas play. I understand all these fears about injuries, but honestly, it's the Olympics. Let the people represent their countries.

I would let him play because it is such a honor for him to play for his country that gave him everything.

Some people around here have zero patriotism.

If you suddenly are the icon of sports in country that population rises over one billion you wouldnt play.

Come on... If Yao was from some smaller country Id understand but hes an icon of sports in China and it is held in Beeing.
