having visited both, reunion has amazing hiking but not-so-great beaches. while seychelles has the greatest beaches in the world. reunion has better climate and food, seychelles more interesting unique culture. for me, madeira is a better version of reunion. and what seychelles offers cannot be found anywhere else.
Madeira really is a blind spot destination for Americans...I went there two Christmases ago, and every American I told about it asks "Where's that?" Of course, Europeans are inundated with package deals to Madeira, so they know about it. It's a really beautiful place, and amazingly cheap for an island so far away from the mainland but still on the Euro.
Nope, no family. Since we are well able to afford living there without assistance from the government, I don't know why we would have a problem. That's the sort of question we'll deal with should that scenario arise. Of course, if they don't want us, we'll keep the house and go there on an extended vacation. Their loss. Right now, it's all hypothetical anyway.
Ive been wanting to plan a visit to its neighbor of Mauritius. Never knew about La Reunion but would probably hop over there whenever I do visit Mauritius. Why not in your lifetime? Youve got miles ahead of you man.
Going there in a few months. Its actually quite affordable to fly there considering how remote it is. Flying one stop via Paris. Its considered a pure leisure destination from Paris so they price the flights accordingly since there's no real premium business traffic to drive the fares upward.
Australia and New Zealand scrapped their traditional retirement visa programs. Now they're all tied to investment visa categories so you have to actually "invest" in a business in some way. You can get 9 month visas to New Zealand and I believe its renewable too. So in theory you can try a workaround that way but you'd want to talk to an immigration lawyer in New Zealand about that one.
Nope Mauritius. I'm fortunate enough to be going for work as well so it'll be part vacation part work.
If you do, be sure to check out the Kaslo Jazz Etc. Festival in Kaslo, BC. Incredible scenery, great sound, greater music. A friend of mine since about 1970 that married a Canadian chick started it.
Of all the places, I would definitely go back to Argentina for a long while. Or the Yucatan. But first, Vietnam/Cambodia/Thailand.
I'll pretty much just second this list and add a few more: Japan, South Korea Brazil, Argentina Alaska Cook Islands Russia Greece, Croatia
I went there a few years ago, to go up to Silver Star Resort in Vernon to go Snowboarding. It was very pretty. For me, I want to return to the Alps. I miss it more and more every day. I cherish the years I had living in Switzerland.
I'm trying to sell my house and buy a sailboat to sail around the world. My only three planned trips are to Holbox, New Zealand, and Pakistan. I'll probably go to India too, but it's not for sure. I might go see the Falkland Islands.
wife from a tiny town near lausanne , it's her idea to go to the mountains , i often slip on the sidewalk so i'm not tempted for skating
