Eliminate free throws!! The free throws causes the game to stall. Thats one reason why I shudder to think about coming season. We be looking at 3 hours when 1 game takes only 48 minutes....

I don't think a game in history has only taken 48 minutes.

I would add weapons as a bonus point or penalty.

Add a 4 point line 7 feet behind the 3 point line. Watch JR Smith lose his mind.

"Live" substitutions via the hockey style
Only 4 players are allowed to cross the half court line on an offensive set
One free throw and retain possession on a foul

No technical foul shots. It should simply be a free point.

No foul outs, but if you exceed a certain number of fouls than any time you commit a foul that results in free throws the other team gets to retain possession.

Have a "flop box" for players who are determined to have flopped on a replay. They must sit in the flop box for at least 3 minutes of game time with a conical hat that says flopper placed on their head.

Would be nice if they eliminate the 8 second half court rule and no back court violations. A full court 24 second would be much harder to defend.

    Also make Lin president.

I would like them to keep offensive fouls, but get rid of charges. If an offensive player leads with his knees or elbows the defender in the chest, then fine...call that a foul, but I don't understand how it's the offensive player's fault that someone got under him. Is the purpose of a charge is to stand still and get trampled on? That's just pesky and annoying.

Yes. That would be nice, even pasties would rock. They could do it on Friday night games and not let anyone younger than 18 inside. Anyone have pictures on the boob slippage of one of our rocket cheerleaders? That was pretty sexy.

Plus. I would do away with free throws. Instead, your team would be awarded 2 points/3 points depending on the situation.

Posted before I read the thread comments, great minds.......

#1 NO DUNKING...more finesse and skills, not just brute force, size.
#2 Enforce the traveling, palming, walks. Call it every time they travel and players will have to adjust the way they handle the ball.
#3 Same calls for every player, rookie, vet or superstar. Try to keep the calls and game consistant. (not just for durant, kobe, harden etc...)

No charges in the painted area and hand check would be allowed. No OF in the paint would eliminate players running under or in front to draw charges. Shot blocking would be at a premium. Hand checking would allow the defense to funnel players better. Offense has too many advantages now days.

Off the top of my head? I would have never allowed the 3 point shot.

If you get rid of OF in the paint, how are you going to prevent big players simply bulldoze their way to the basket. Would you allow the defensive players to push, shove, hold, and tackle? Then basketball would become like football, a sport of mostly strength rather than skills, at least in the paint area.

Which it should be. The paint area should be strictly a big man zone or any guard that has the balls to brave that area. tired of seeing a 6 ft guard brushing a 7 footer and the 7 footer falling down as if he had been hit by a ton of bricks.
