If you could own one sports team in the entire world ?

1-Rockets. Get that out of the way.
2-Canadiens-Turn the Yankees of hockey into something worth respecting, bonus for being hometown team.
3-Arsenal FC-Give Arsene Wenger craploads of cash, watch magic happen.
4-Saints-My favorite NFL team.

 

Rockets. I'm assuming this is not just a money making venture but something you really want (though that's not necessarily the OPs rules).

 

I forgot to mention in my post that the grandfather of my best friend growing up owned a certain Houston sports franchise and he seemed to have a blast

 

Cardiff City Football Club. Go check out their current economic state, I'd love to be their savior then get them to the Premiership.

Rockets, I couldn't own them because their would be too much emotion involved, and I know emotion would lead to stupid moves....

 

The Oilers/Titans and bring them back to Houston.

I'd bring back the Oilers too have them on the North Side and each side of town would have thier own team.
