I would have said NYC, but I just got back today after spending 2 weeks there (never been there for that long of time before) and it was really starting to give me a headache.

I like Boulder a lot, but the winters are pretty brutal, I am ready to leave

just got back from nyc and would have no problem whatsoever living in the west village... damn that is a kick ass part of town.

but i also just got back from san fran earlier in july and would have a hard time turning down a cosmopolitan city + natural beauty and moderate weather.

and i'd have a lodge in telluride for good measure.

damn i'm gonna need to start making some serious coin.

    Manhattan
LA - although the traffic has gone from bad to absolutely atrocious.
    San Fran
    SD
    Vegas

Cali for the beaches and scenery.

But I'm more than happy in Houston. Cost of living. Great freeways (our traffic is money compared to LA or NY). Restaurants are diverse and the nightlife is actually quite poppin.

    Jesus.

I lived in North Dakota when I was four and five, and used to love playing in the three-foot high snow.

Don't think I'd enjoy driving in it.

Thanks for the heads-up, might have to reconsider.

Glad to see Portland has other fans on this forum. That would be my choice followed by SF, Seattle, and Denver.

I've lived in Austin since 1980 after finally making the move from Houston, and while I still love Austin, it's changed a hell of a lot and isn't the university/state capital with a couple of hundred thousand plus people that I began visiting in the 1960's. Assuming money isn't an issue, I'd have a place in San Francisco and a canal house or canal boat in Amsterdam, or one of the smaller cities in the Netherlands. About 6 months out of the year in each. Yeah, that's what I'd do, at least it's what sounds great at the moment. After another week in San Francisco back in June to remind me why I love it so, it's way up there on my list, and I've never failed to have a great time in the Netherlands. Besides the charms of the country, you can take a train in the morning from the Central Station, ride along the Rhine, and have dinner high in the mountains of Switzerland. I've done just that several times over the years, and people, that is living. It doesn't hurt that my S.O.'s got loads of family there.

Parts of it aren't bad (Federal Hill, Inner Harbor). Parts of it are REALLY bad, though. I mean really bad.
