I used to live in Chicago and uprooted myself pretty significantly just so I could live in Houston. So, Houston is my answer. I have lots of personal connections that obviously no other city could offer. If I had to pick any city but Houston... that would take some extensive research.
No Place like Home. H-town Forever. Maybe So-Cal. Along the beach somewhere. I seem to like the so-cal, west coast life after watching the OC. I love the houses, I like the beach. I like that stuff. That's not exactly my style either though. It also has that urbaness in some cities like Los Angeles. LA is a diverse city, and I appreciate that fact. That basically means, I have to stay out of Anaheim, because that is the second whitest city in America behind Salt Lake City. I could probably live in long beach because there is a strong asian american contingent there.
I hope the Rockets can move to OC, then it will be the greatest town ever, I will move to there in a heart beat!!!! But since the Rockets is not going anywhere, I guess I'm stack in Houston.
Houston...without a doubt. everyone i love is here...it's familiar...i'm connected to it...my practice is here...i just can't imagine leaving it. every city has a story, and i can't imagine being away from Houston's for any long period of time. Luke Skywalker: "I was born here ya know." Han Solo: "You're gonna die here, ya know. Convenient."
Paris in the US: San Francisco, Chicago, or Houston. I would live in NYC, but I would need to be a millionaire there. Much easier.
NYC or San Fran. Austin would be there if the drivers weren't such aholes. Colorodoans resent Texans because alot of Texans bought land up there, I believe. Joke: A Colorodoan and a Texan are talking. The Col. guy said "there's so much gold in Colorado that you could build 6 foot wall around the Texas border with it." Texan says "hmmmmm....ok, do that and I'll buy it from you.
I'm with you. The California coastline is sweet. Cool weather for the most part, beaches, forests if you go inland... and my best friend moestavern19 is there. ... ok, so I'm lyin' about the last part.
I thought I was the only one with those sentiments. It has always amazed me how we have such an educated poplace and they can't drive worth a s***. Simply amazing. But I wouldn't trade it for anything overcrowded, crime infested, polluted or cold...and below 60 is cold to this body!
San Diego and La Jolla are too crowded close to the ocean and too dry inland. I'd say Santa Barbara CA. It 70 miles from LA, not too close , not too far. The actual downtown has a small town, walk around feel. The boating and fishing around the Channel islands is great. They have great golf courses. It never freezes or gets too hot. The Mountains are just east of town and you get a fabulous sunset every night. If I could afford to live there I would. The mountains of North Carolina around Ashville could work for me also. I also liked Beaverton Oregon a lot when I was there this summer. West of Portland, it's where theNike world Headquarters are.
