Manny -- I appreciate your response, but even in your apology you misquote me...I never told someone they weren't human. I said if someone were to say that 9/11 had no effect on them or didn't disturb them in some way, i would be curious as to whether or not that person were actually human. But never, ever did I point a finger at someone and question whether or not they were human. I do not appreciate the insinuation that I did. I would appreciate the courtesy and respect of reading through my posts (not just a cursory glance and a, "i've read enough to judge you now, Max) before you make personal statements about me.

i have no idea what's wrong with saying that someone's answer is confusing...that happened to me here earlier on this very thread and i tried to make my point clearer to Drew. so i'm not sure where you're going there.

Manny, as I've told Jeff and others here, the one thing that bothers me about this board is the arrogance. If I've been arrogant, I'll be the first to apologize...and if you feel I have been to you, then I'm truly sorry. Usually I'm quite self-deprecating about myself...I don't view myself as being outstandingly intelligent (particularly when compared to guys like haven or rimbaud)...and when I present my views, I'll be the VERY FIRST ONE to tell you those views are colored by my faith, which has a tremendous impact on my worldview. I will tell you absolutely what I believe...and I do believe in absolutes...but I do not make a habit of telling people they're wrong. I may disagree with them, but I try to keep arguments in the abstract without making judgment calls on the people I argue with. The only potential exception to that is glynch. I do not intend to denigrate anyone, and that accusation probably bothers me more than any of the ones you made here. If you feel I have denigrated you in any way, I'm sorry....but that's the first time anyone has ever made that accusation to me in over 1600 posts here. Honestly, I can't remember having a conversation with you here at all Manny.

rimbaud -- i have to say i never approached this hypo in the context you put it...in light of predestination, etc. i simply answered the question. oh, well!!

i shouldn't have ever answered it. better to just keep quiet...

Here is a better question. . . If you woke up and found the date to
    be 9/10 . . . HOW WOULD YOU CHANGE 9/11.

I mean ,. . If i called the White house or something
    would they beleive me?

@ most i might just be arrested
Hell I don't even remember the flight numbers. . .

    I horrible with details. . . . .

The actual mechanicsof how you would change it would be
    interesting to me. . . .

    Would I if i could. . .
it is the devil you know vs the one u don't know

If you stop it . . but the anthrac thing never gets the pub
we got. . how long be fore that was taken seriously
[remember u stop 9/11 not the following things]

I was referring to one of your loved ones dying in the WTC, the hi-jacked flights, or the Pentagon. The majority of people would want to get their loved ones back and if they could change the moment....they would.

everyone has the right to their own opinion.

as im sure people have already said changing the past is impossible.

    arguing about this is pointless.

Manny, I feel like I am attacking you, but I am truly not trying to make you feel bad. What I am wondering is how did you know this thread was going to "turn out this way"? I think this is a good discussion , especially because I finally get to see I am not the only one that feels this way about the attacks........ Just wondering why you would wish this thread was never started.

I know you are not attacking me, Drew:) . However, questions like these are akin to ones on abortion, going to war, gun control, homosexuality, etc.

They are issues that are very polarizing. I have read threads here in the past, and have seen what was meant to be an honest question evolve into a 3 to 5 page thread of people going at one another.

It is a very interesting topic, but unfortunately, IMO, one that is very sensitive. And when a topic is like that, i.e. sensitive, then even the best intentions of the thread starter are not enough to keep the thread on track, if you see what I'm saying.

I'm really not trying to start anything so please don't get offended, and maybe I'm reading into this too much. But it seems like you don't value how Diseased Monkey's life has been changed as much as those who lost family members.

9/11 was also the day that Lynus decided once and for all that he needed to join the army. I know it didn't work out, but both of our lives changed a lot.

Like I said, I'm not trying to put words in your mouth. I just wanted to clarification. :)

The exercise of this thread included the possibility of changing the past, so for the purposes of this thread changing the past is not impossible.

    Save lives. Change the past!
