No worries. Yes. I was Muslim and she was Hindu. We were both very liberal, open-mided in our respective faiths.

My family loved her and her folks; hers hated us to a scary degree from the day they found out she was with a Muslim. I was never allowed in their home. She and I stayed together nevertheless, and we agreed to marry in spite of her side hating me.

Recently, her extended family/clan back in India threatened violence and using their political influence against her immediate family unless she left me. So she left me.

Based on this experience...religion, though it has helped me immensely individually, has hurt society more than it has helped.

    Holy. Crap.

I'm so sorry that both of you went through that.

Such a shame to see your religion used against you in that way. Sorry to hear that. We are all human beings first and foremost and regardless of religion, being a good person translates across all religions and what her family did was the complete opposite of that.

Yeah, pretty crazy. It's a shame they are denying their daughter happiness as well.

    When i was alive. :(

Probably 20 years old being stationed in Hawaii. Standing on the beach, water washing my feet. I'm on the phone describing to her how happy i feel and that i want to bring her from LA to enjoy it at my side. When i hang up, i look to the clear beautiful sky, and i felt so much peace. Turns out it was the calm b4 the storm as my life was ruined only months later. I was back home in Houston, laying in bed starring at the ceiling. 8 years later and i'm still doing the same.

I think I'm currently at an optimal money to youth ratio. I bet I'll want to relive where I am right now later.

I was gonna say high school so I could be the guy that I was during my senior year all 4 years but in all seriousness, I would say my Freshman and Sophomore year of college. I would've hit the books really hard and not fall behind like I did. Now I'm a super senior when I should've been preparing to graduate already.

I wish I could redo high school, I'm in my last year and looking back I realized I essentially wasted three years of life and accomplished nothing. I'm still the same immature, screwed up boy I was when I came in.

Probably my first year of college at UH. I was in shape, just starting to figure out the world, no bills or worries outside of studies, and spent most of my day on campus living it up. Worst grades of my life, best times of my life. :) Class? no thanks I'd rather hoop at the rec center. Exam? Na didnt study, totally forgot about it since i was too busy hooping at the rec center. Meeting for school group? Whoops, I was hooping at the rec center... Good ole days.

Junior High and Early High School / 1991-1995

Just played basketball after school, watched MTV, listened to alternative rock/grunge, radio actually played good music, video games were fun and not tedious, Hakeem, Back to Back championships, etc.

Next best time after that was after graduating college and starting to make money. College was probably my least favorite time.
