    Kafiristan.

You and a buddy take 20 riflles, find a king, defeat his enemies and then take over as king yourself.

Why not? Some friends of mine have gone to India and they liked a lot.
    I dont think its bad.
Of course its very different from the US or Europe, but I think its very interesting, if you want adventure you can go, if you want to be more comfortable go to other places like Beijing.

how long is a short trip? it takes more than a day to get to asia anyway with the time difference....

If its not Japan I've found Singapore to be a pretty cool place to visit and same with Thailand.

I've been there. The little islands are really nice, but the big cities of Manilla and Cebu are utter hell holes.

I'm in the Philippines right now... it's a shame how, this country could do a TON better if there was someone smarter running as president.

If you are already there now, why did you choose it as the place you would most want to visit out of all Asian countries?

Jakarta's traffic is HORRIBLE. The shopping is excellent, if you speak the language, but they drive up the price like crazy for foreigners. If I didn't have family to stay with and a driver to drive me around, I don't think I'd be able to spend more than 2 days there. There's tons of better tourist spots in Indonesia, if that's where you want to go.
