Nah, they just check your ticket and make you leave the section. The only risk is that you'll give up game watching time.

It has to be only occasional, because the problem is that unless you are in a suite, or already in the club, you can't even get access to the club area to try and even walk down the aisle.

You probably can pull it occasionally, though. Or pull a "left the ticket with my friend down in Section [ ]"...though if a group of you are trying to do it, a little harder.

Dress sharp, look like you belong (don't be eying guards/ushers all weird and nervous), and last but not least, e-ticket.

I understand OP/Red Rowdie's POV on this and as a true Rox fan it galls me to no end that Rox fans (especially in the lower bowl) typically arrive late and leave early. Hello? What's the freakin point of going? But that's what you get when most of the seats are corporate blocks and contest giveaways!

Yes, the real fans are up in the nosebleed section. Been there many a time!

On the other hand, the Rox have not played consistent so the fans don't feel confident about which team will show up? GS, Portland, Dallas, Phoenix, NO .... the fans there have the anticipation of winning games regardless of the circumstances. That anticipation here in H-Town has been VERY rare.

Big time plays to win games at TC, I can recollect on one hand ... last year, T-Mac dishing to Luther for an ultimate game winning 3 vs the Clippers and T-Mac's incredible display in 33 seconds vs the Spurs in 04.

I mean I may be wrong on that recollection but ...

But, before totally dissing the fans, I can recall of recent the (NYE game vs GS) crowd at TC, according Gene and Jim on the radio, that they (the fans) would not give up on the Rockets and spurred them to a comeback and a lead which the Rox promptly blew in the 4th by playing stupid!

So, ask yourself this? If you were a season ticket holder and you kept seeing the same hum drum crap and largely listless play would you cheer your head off?

Agreed. It works both ways. The fans in Houston are way too laid back but, the team has to play like they give a $#@&! The fans when the Rox were leading and competing got into the game and the Jazz announcers did recognize that fact but, again lack of consistent play and a 4th quarter attitude of no need to finish and play any kind of defense killed any chance of winning yesterday.

The Rockets had a golden opportunity and they BLEW IT! Great wins on the road in the NW, playing inspiring basketball only to come home and take a big fat dump and dispel any notion that they're capable of being a playoff team.

Plus, they lost ground not only on Utah, but, also ... Golden State (next opponent), Portland and Dallas. This was a terrible game for the Rockets not to show up for!

I personally have not given up because, the Rockets STILL have incredible second half season history on their side but, DAMN they had a chance to win yesterday EVEN without Yao and they could not even execute the simplest of fundamentals. That had better change!

Like I said before, the street runs both ways on this subject. Build it and they will come!

... Dallas and San Antonio are pretty damn far away from Houston, and Houston has several million people of it's own, so I don't see why that should matter.

Damm you exposed me. Im like Miss Teen USA 2007 South Carolina.

I been wondering maybe attendance at Toyota Center isn't so bad instead it's the shape of the arena and lighting? It just looks so dull on t.v.

I don't go to the sideline sections. I go to the baseline sections.

That sounds like a good idea, but you'd have to have a lazy guard who isn't really paying attention to the tickets he/she is checking.

jcee15, you are getting close. Expand on that thought, get a little more creative and you'll see the light.
