The Rowdies are awesome. I've sat near you and it's a ton of fun, and you can really hear many of your chants from all over the arena. It seems like every new person I bring to a game really loves the "I'm blind, I'm deaf, I wanna be a ref" chant.

I wanted to say something about this. It drives me crazy how much music is played while the game is being played. I watch a lot of basketball, and the Rockets have to be the worst about extending the break music into the gameplay. How hard can it be to cut off the music before the inbounds pass?

being a former rowdie I know how hard it is...I mean there's only so much noise 50 people can make in a big ass arena..........fans complain about you standing too much, cheering too much, or even trying to get them to cheer.................

Wow, I love folks that don't go to games b****ing about the atmosphere inside the games.

I have season tickets and most the games this season have either sold out or been close to selling out. The entire upper level and the entire area behind the goals in the lower level always has 90-95% of the seats full when it is a sellout or close to a sellout. When ya'll see those empty seats on tv they are in the "Club" sections that span from baseline to baseline on both sides of the lower bowl.

If you have ever been in those "premium" seat areas you would know that there are hundreds of folks at all times in the bar area watching the plasma tv's or talking with other folks. It's the way they made the arena and there just is not that many hard core fans in those sections. I have taken many folks who don't go that often to games and they are very surprised that things are pretty good inside the arena and they can see how 80% of Toyota Center is in there seats and the other 20% is scattered because those sections are catoring to a different kind of client.

Look I see where you can be frustrated as a fan when someone does not use or sit in a seat but some of us on here have invested alot of money and we do our part EVERY game.

not everyone can afford season tickets, lol......being a former season ticket holder it's a fair observation to say that the majority of our fans suck ass.....whether it be not cheering, sitting at crucial times in the game, not getting to your seat on time (because you're drinking at the bar...like you mentioned), not showing up, criticizing others when they are loud, leaving early, etc.......our fans suck for the most part......the only time they stand up and cheer is when free t-shirts are being thrown out.............and although the rockets play has been crappy this year, the fans in T.C. suck even when the team is playing good..........I've seen it far too many times.

All this whining about fans not being at the game from people who watched it on TV.

I have made about 8 games this season. I cheered, I stood, I clapped, I had a good time. I think many fans on this board would have alot better time if they stopped worrying about what everyone else is doing and enjoy themselves. So what if there are 12 people in the stands, as long as you are one of those 12, enjoy yourself. Stop worrying about other people.

BS, I sat there during the Denver game and it was the most boring section I have ever sat in. Not a SINGLE person stood up or cheered. It was horrible. Sitting in the lowers blows, I'd rather sit in the nosebleeds and have more fun.

    Meh,

The people who buy those seats can do with them what they want. Maybe they don't want to give their tickets away, or resell them for fear of pissing off the people around them that they have gotten to know.

I think the only working suggestion is to remove the restrictions after the first quarter...

This is BS.....the rowdies are REQUIRED to stand and cheer the entire game...I seriously doubt not a SINGLE individual stood up and cheered.....go somewhere with your lame ass lies

I had to drop out, because I openly displayed my dislike for tmac and I have school to worry about.......the amigos just joined last monday....

I always enjoyed myself at games no matter how lame are fans were, but I think what people are complaining about is the lack of energy in the building and how our fans rarely play any significant role in getting the team fired up. Fans can make a difference by creating at least a little noise...I don't think that's too much to ask.......

I'm a season ticket holder and the bottom line is the GAMES ARE BORING!!!!

The Rockets aren't winning, they can't shoot, they rarely dunk or make flashy plays...what is there to cheer about?? Why are people going to spent money going to the games while our team is not producing? (exciting Plays)

Even if the Toyota center doesnt get full, and even with the crowd it has now I bet the people attending would make a hell of alot more noise/cheer when we see our team WINNING, shooting high %, dunking on opposing players, and making flashy plays!!!!!

Its hard to cheer and get into the games when my Team is not producing... a fan can only do so much! the team must PRODUCE!

The past few games the crowd has been cheering when Brooks, Landry and even Novak make shoots, dunks or nice plays....we need more to cheer about!...forget about giving freaking t-shirts and price packages...get on those players you pay millions to make some buckets!!!!!!!!!

^^^^I agree....like a poster said earlier it's a 2 way street.......with that being said I've seen times in the past when the arena has been quiet even when the game is fairly exciting.............

    This is so funny...

Before this thread, the excuse was JVG and his brand of basketball.

Now, we are arguing a whole other set of excuses.

    I see...

On a second note, Rocket probably has the most virtual fans from internet. So that makes up for the empty seats.

Rockets @ Home: 93.7% capacity (#16 in NBA)
Rockets as a Road Draw: 90.5% capacity (#12 NBA)

The Rockets really blew it with the club seats - the exclusive bar above the courtside sections just siphons the casual/business fans out of their seats all game (except for the T-shirt toss. Rich people just fall over themselves to get a $5 print T). I'd say 70% of what galls us all as fans can be attributed to the clubs and that "regular" fans are completely priced out of those sections.

As others have mentioned, the Rockets are in the entertainment business. Yes, we need to support them as fans, but as a paying customer I expect to be entertained.

-->When the Steve/Cat era devolved into unwatchable isoball (Steve endlessly driving for fouls and unable to finish), I got sick and walked out of blowout games (I distinctly remember one at the hands of the Mavs) for the first time after a decade of attending. I can live with losing, but not a team that can't/won't compete.

-->When McGrady or Yao miss a quarter of the season, attendance and excitement will dip. People pay to see stars, not subs. Simple science.

-->At each game, you can't expect more than 10% to be diehards. A quarter to a third will be casual or fairweather fans who will be very different when we're contending or out of it. As much as a quarter will be non-fans attending because their friend/significant other brought them along. We get frustrated on this BBS, but we've got to remember that we're 90% hardcores, but the Rockets total "fan" base isn't like that.

The fact is, this is not a basketball town, it's a football town first. It's also been a full decade since the Rockets have been among the elite. A 5 game win streak is not going to bring Houston back to a Rockets craze. A playoff appearance won't either. We need to win a couple playoff series for people to really believe again. Until that happens, it's going to be guarded/half hearted support. Everyone wants to believe, but the Rockets have got to step up and prove themselves if they want the city to be fully behind them.

Every Clutchfans member that attends a game needs to buy an upper bowl ticket and sneak downstairs and sit in the expensive lower bowl seats.

If I can do it at Oracle (where the GS Warriors play to a packed arena), you, my fellow CF member, can surely do it at the empty ass Toyota Center.

Now I can't give out all my tips and ideas on a public forum, but please people, just think and be creative. It's your duty as a die hard Rox fan to get your ass down there and make some major noise.

    Ok, end of rant.

If you wait until the second quarter, act like you know where you are going, and don't bring a group, you can usually get by the security guards. I do it occasionally.

but if they catch you, do they kick you out of the arena? I've thought about doing that once but never actually did. I'm thinking to do that the next time I go to a game though.
