So you're complaining about the lack of attendance at the Rockets games and yet you were at home watching the game on TV? Something's gotta give here..

Watched the game on Directv and was astonished at how quiet the TC was and how many empty seats there were. Even the terrible Utah announcers made note of the less than capacity crowd. It was most disappointing to say the least...

i agree that the stands are too empty. I wouldnt mind getting free rox tickets either *wink, wink*

in defense of this one game, it was at 6PM on a SUNDAY. I know that you pay for this and stuff, but the majority of adult sports enthusiasts have a job they have to go to on monday morning, especially those rich quiet businessmen who buy tickets in the lower bowl. Sunday evening games are a really bad time.

all the large group tickets are usually in the upper bowl, the 400s.

I wish fans can move in to those seats if the owner of those seats dont come, but they have those sections blocked off.

actually, I thought tonight's crowds were much better and louder than usual.. watching on TV, the Toyota center was pretty loud especially in the end of the 3rd when Novak went nuts..

    HOWEVER,

it might have just sounded louder because it was channel 20 rather than FSN.. I know FSN uses excessive noise canceling. but can anyone confirm this? does the channel make a difference? (I know for a fact that ESPN games are waaaay louder than FSN)..

Here's exactly what the Rockets should do to solve this problem: get rid of all their seat-checking security guards. Look at how well it works for baseball. You never see tremendous masses of great seats empty in a baseball park, and why? Because people move down after the 2nd inning! And it's not like there is ever a problem with this. If someone has a ticket and arrives late and someone is in their seat, well there's no belligerent argument that arises--the guy who's been hopping around just leaves and finds another empty seat. It's an implicit understanding among baseball fans. Plus, no matter how full the stadium is, those who are there fill the lower section first. When I go to Rockets games and see the top half packed and the bottom half not, I can't help but feel like somebody in management is not doing their job, and probably got their position for reasons other than competency. Alas, it happens in every occupation.

This has been something I've noticed ever since I got League Pass almost 6 or 7 years ago (damn, has it really been that long????).

I know I've complained about the home support for the Rox many times before.

if you can't sell the tix, please give them to a kid or something.

If the Rockets crowd is going to suck, the Rockets just need to turn them into a complete non-factor. This is what the Rockets need to do:

Darken the stands, like the Lakers do in the Staples center. Just make it pitch black, with only the floor being lit. Then, they need to pump in some pre-recorded fan noise. Get some crowd samples from Golden State home games or something. That'll do the trick.

tonight's crowd was actually pretty packed compared to other nights

btw, don't worry if its empty, let them do their part, you are telling people on here who would die to go to a game, believe me, the people that don't show up don't even know who the hell we are playing that game, so what makes you think they read on here?

There are plenty of posters that either sell their tixs for pretty cheap or actually give them away, like weslinder, King of 40 Acres, and if I know you, I give out extra tixs, ask Kam

in the end, just read my sig...

A couple of points on this topic
1A. Our owner looks board to death compared to Cuban. It starts at the top. He sits there very smugged and aloof. Check on Jack Nicholson on the LA sideline.
    1. There is nothing else to do in San Antonio
    2. Dallas has a younger more disposable income crowd
    3. The majority of the people who purchase expensive seats are not very knowledgeable about bball and see this an entertainment and not a love for the Rockets
    4. Most of the people who can afford the seats live no where near downtown (Sugar Land, Woodlands, Pearland, etc...)
    5. We need to implement a lose your seat after the 1st quarter and allow people to move down into the lower bowl or verify attendance 1 hour before the game allowing the Rockets to resell some seats for additional profit.
    6. Houston crowd is way too cool during the regular season
    7. Our music and atomosphere sucks, we're still doing the same things from our championship years. Can we get some updated music and happenings.
    8. We are way too corny as an organization

Why don't they dim the lights theatre style like Staples Center. That will hide some of the empty seats.

This reminds me when I went to the Raps game on December, I sat at the upper bowl. There was me and this other guy on the opposite side of the bowl. Every time he or I scream or yell something everybody in front of us would turn around and look at us. Wtf man... I thought upper bowls were supposed to be louder.

I have a serious question about this. I'm not a season ticket holder, but I go to 15-20 games/year, and buy many of these tickets well ahead of time. I almost always use Will Call. If I can't go at all, can I give my tickets away? If so, how?

The loudest sections in the Toyota Center are typically the lower-level baseline sections, even the ones opposite the Rowdies.

don't see why not, if you can't go, call the ticket office ahead of time and see if you can switch your tickets to put under another name, most likely they'll let you.
