    I don't think she "went in after the guy". She got caught in the post-throw crush. She was standing quite close to the shoe-launcher.

    look at Swoly-D's first animation. He got pulled down from behind in mid-throw of the 2nd shoe. You seriously don't think SS was positioned in the back of the room.

    That also explains why no one surrounded Bush, because the dude was already on his back on the ground screaming like a girl, probably in some professional death grip.
