TMac will not be traded. If he is healthy the Rockets will not trade him; if he can't play, no team will take him. At best, he will return to superstar form, at worst, he will retire. Why are we talking about this, it is a non-issue?

Any thought of trading tmac upsets my stomach. I'm tired of seeing threads like this.

Why on earth would we trade Tracy McGrady? It makes little sense. From both an economic and quality stand-point, McGrady represents one hell of a deal. He is one of the best players in the league when injured. His defense is superb, as is his offense. Unlike many players who earn the All-Star status, McGrady is one of the few who actually deserve it. He is a team player, a leader, a slasher, a scorer, a defensive expert, and a fan favorite. If the Rockets trade McGrady, assuming his back troubles are not permanent, then the Rockets franchise will be in serious trouble. Financially and standings-wise. There is no player that could play Tracy McGrady's role on the Rockets in the NBA today.

    wow, Even Mcgrady says Nash.

AI has a problem with post players. See Chris Webber. Ai also has problems passing, see Andre Iguodala's stunted growth.

KG couldn't close out a game for you.

Wade seems like the best fit. Game closer, shoots awesomely at almost 50%.

    LBJ would nice.

Kobe wouldn't let Yao shoot. Kobe doesn't want to win with someone else. Kobe wants to be Michael's bulls without Scottie Quitten.

Ray Allen systematically fits because of the inside out offense, but doesn't do much else other than score. He's probably the worst of the elite guards and best of the moderate guards although he gets paid like the elite guards.

JUST ASSUME FOR A SECOND THAT HIS BACK IS NOT OKAY:
You have an injured player on your CAP for what, seven years?
Tell me how good a team you could build around Yao with two guys already making MAX money? I think' it's a risk to keep him, however if healthy the rewards are just as high. Based on previous player's with chronic back problems, it does NOT look very good.

McGrady will retire if he cannot play anymore. He plays out of pride, not the money. If his back is not okay, I would only want to trade him for some one like Lebron James, a young star who has loads of potential with enough skill to warrent a trade. Though, if push came to shove Steve Nash would make a great addition if McGrady has to call it quits. With Nash, the offensive balance still exists.

Well a guy named Alvin Williams in Toronto, a QUALITY person (very respected among NBA players) has remained injured and probably will never see any NBA playing time again, though he remained to cash in his player option of about 6MIll for 2006-2007 season. Look these guys careers do not last too long, most will never make this type of money again. You think Tracy is gonna walk away from MAX money; you must be mad. Sorry. But i don't think anyone who is sane would. Plus, I don't know if the team has insured his contract, it's unlikely since his back problems are known around the league.

It's good to see though that a fan is looking outside the box. Too many people in here are fooled by how good he is, and are willing to risk 6 horrible seasons just for the sake of seeing one of the best offensive talents in the game. I don't think it's worth the risk, I want to see this team contend, whether it's with him or without.

    Ray Allen...
Let me remind you what he did last year... One of the top record in west..Swept Sacramento Kings in playoff....Beat Spurs twice in playoffs, and the other ones are close games.. why? because a scrub named Jerome James suddenly played well and Denny Fortson played good lowpost defense.. just imagin if Yao paired with Ray insteand of Jerome James ..what damage can Ray do
