What do yall think of Shane Battier, Brian Cook and Joey Dorsey for JR Smith? For Denver: Gives them some more players (they currently have 11) and gives them a defender (Shane Battier) to replace Dahntay Jones. Battier is a much better defender than Jones though and can score just as much. Also, the Nuggets don't have a very good backup PF so Dorsey could help off the bench. Cook gives them an expiring contract and who knows? Maybe he'll go back to his ways when he was with the Lakers when he averaged 8pts and 3.5rebs a game. For Houston: Puts our roster at 15 players. Obviously, it will be tough to let Shane Battier go but the reward is big. JR Smith may have some attitude issues but he'll be very happy to come to Houston since he'll be the starter and main scorer. The Rockets have no real shooting guards besides Jermain Taylor (unproven) and Brent Barry (Old and can't play too much anymore). We also have no scorers with Yao and McGrady hurt. JR Smith is still 23 and IMO, is a future All-Star.
I think some people don't understand the importance of a player like Shane. See Thunder, their team is stacked with talent. They are one shane battier type player from contending for a championship. but since they don't have one. There just a young inexperienced team. Thats what we would be if we didnt have Shane.
