Dvia behind the scenes. Jealousy runs high. http://nba.nbcsports.com/2015/11/12...-lifestyle-attention-damian-lillard-received/ Privately, Aldridge never made much of a secret about his dislike for the lifestyle and climate of Portland and the Pacific Northwest. As an organization, the Blazers could do nothing about it. Aldridge loathed driving around Portland and seeing those Lillard billboards that adidas had mounted for him – even when the Blazers made Aldridge the centerpiece of every franchise marketing investment. Throughout the final, formal meeting in late June, it became clear that Aldridge hadn’t let completely let go of years-old issues with the way he believed ex-Blazers Brandon Roy and Greg Oden had overshadowed him in his early years. This was part of Aldridge’s personality that everyone surrounding him understood – that the teams recruiting him had researched and debated internally on how to navigate in the recruiting process. Leaving that meeting in Dallas in late June, perhaps little was more telling than the fact Aldridge never raised one particular name: Damian Lillard. Ultimately, this was the enigma of LaMarcus Aldridge. He wanted talent around him, but never too much that it might lessen his own marquee. Pleasing Aldridge was never easy, and nobody knew that better than the Portland Trail Blazers. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/r...ading-lamarcus-aldridge-who-may-not-be-happy/ Those close to the situation suggest Aldridge may not be happy at the moment. The belief is the Spurs pitched him on becoming the center of their offense when they recruited him in 2015, and that hasn't occurred with the rise of Kawhi Leonard. If you recall, Aldridge went through a similar situation with the Portland Trail Blazers. Though there was no serious turmoil between the two, Aldridge wasn't exactly thrilled with the [ascension] and eventual takeover by Damian Lillard as the face of the franchise. _______ According to Stephen A. Smith, LaMarcus Aldridge is "very, very unhappy in San Antonio right now. He feels the Spurs have compromised him, his productivity. They have hurt his game. As a result, he wants out and he wants out in the worst way. He wants to be gone." _______
It's funny. Not very long ago at all LMA and Love were seen as the best PF's in the game and every Rockets fan would have gone crazy to get one of them. Now, neither the Cavs or the Spurs can find anyway to get rid of them. It's crazy how quickly the perception about a player can change
With all the 3 point shooting and floor spacing he'll be scoring on the boards and put backs not to mention lobs! Maybe he'll play C for mda and be utilized like amare stoudemire was in phx with Nash. they aren't THAT different Nash-amare-Marion < Paul-harden-Aldridge
Maybe getting that much money off the book is a plus. Just time for a banana boat guy. But I just don't see Spurs taking Ryan for him.
I think Love can still be a 21 ppg guy.... Aldridge just got worse somehow.......also I regret wanting him. He is a diva arse. CP3 should be the leader, Harden the best scorer and best stats....no room for LMA's ego.
The part about Lebron was more or less sarcasm .... but in terms of fitting the requirements , no one better to fill the 4 spot. (I dont care for the personality either TBH.)
those assets were gone if we signed him as a FA. We got chris paul with the minimal amount of salary possible without giving up gordon
We give up more assets if we sign him as a FA. We would have had to clear the full 34 million in cap space instead of matching salaries in a trade. Now his cap hit is only 24. Trading for him also allowed us to go over the cap with the trade which we couldnt do if we added him as a FA. Allowing us to get the Full MLE and sign PJ Tucker. You have no clue how the cap or any of this works.
Maybe they were overrated all along and its just that fans are too blinded by hype. Btw I'll take Klove on the rox any day of the week. Maybe Cp3 can talk Lebron on a Anderson for Klove swap.
