I assume we will match, and agree that we probably should. If Morey throws us all a curve ball however, and we went the free agent route to replace Lowry, who would you chose out of the names below?

NOTE: I've left off some unrealistic names like Nate Robinson (will cost as much as Lowry), Allen Iverson (no explanation needed), and Mustafa Shakur (because who the **** is Mustafa Shakur?).

    (R) = Restricted

    Rafer Alston
    Chucky Atkins
    Carlos Arroyo
    Earl Boykins
    Bobby Brown (R)
    Will Bynum (R)
    Anthony Carter
    Javaris Crittendon
    Travis Diener
    Eddie House
    Anthony Johnson
    Acie Law
    Shaun Livingston
    Patrick Mills (R)
    Kevin Ollie
    Jannero Pargo
    Chris Quinn
    Luke Ridnour
    Jamaal Tinsley
    Earl Watson
    Jason (White Chocolate) Williams
    Marcus Williams

None of these guys can hold Mr. Lowry's jock. I guess one of these older guys like White Chocolate, Anthony Johnson, or (god forbid) Rafer Alston would be a just-below-adequate stop gap but this list is a boner kill.

One more thing: We should like at trying to sign a Livingston or Pat Mills as a 3rd point guard if we can. They're young and still show a lot of promise (Shaun is 24, Pat is 21). I'd feel better about signing Livingston if I hadn't watched he knee explode on YouTube.

I definitely don't like our off-season if we start losing our regulars on top of losing out on just about every free agent on the market worth anything. Sigh... it could be a long offseason.

You cut out the unrealistic ones but kept Rafer on the list?

    Arroyo wouldn't be horrendous.

As an Aggie, I say Law, but I may be biased.

Where's Tyronn Lue when you need him?

    Sergio Llull
    Shaun Livingston

    And a trade for Sessions

Those would be my top 3 choices if we lose Lowry.

I'll take the option where I have to bang my head against a wall.

I'm not an Aggie, but I'd love to sign Law... as a 3rd point guard. I'll add him to my list with Livingston and Mills.

Brooks is a RFA next offseason. I wouldn't mind having an under 25 point guard with a little game to develop into the future. Who knows, maybe that person will end up being Kyle Lowry's backup next year.

Well, I think we can just go ahead and say no to Rafer Alston.

Will Bynum would be nice...if we can't match Lowry. Actually, Bynum might be a better option regardless.

Could we get Llull over here this year? Or is Sessions a stop gap?

Llull just signed an extension so I don't think its possible to bring him in this year.

I would really hate to lose Lowry, but Shaun Livingston is a name that stood out to me on that list. I've been watching this kid since he was in high school, and he really is special. Very unfortunate what happened to him, but it looks like he's doing relatively well considering the circumstances. If we do lose Lowry, Livingston is a great pure PG that we can pick up. Call me biased, but man he was going to be great. Obviously keeping Lowry is my first choice though.

I would take Earl Watson. He's defensive minded, a little limited on offense but I think where we would miss Lowry most is on the defensive end. Out of our backcourt rotation he's the only one that plays good on the ball defense. Jannero Pargo would be a good stop gap too.
