Moti. Lamb may become elite but I think Moti is a more sure thing.

I keep hearing this but I don't really know that I agree. Look at the best shooting guards in the league and After Kobe and Wade it's a pretty drastic drop off. And those two guys are getting up there in age.

    Kobe
    Wade
    .
    .
    .
    .
    Manu Genobli
    Eric Gordon
    James Harden
    Joe Johnson
    .
    .
    .
    Kevin Martin
    O.J. Mayo
    Ray Allen
    Jason Terry

Half of that list is really old. I think this years draft produced the best potential crop of shooting guards the NBA has seen in a long time. Scoring wise I think Lamb could be the best of all the 2012 draftees.i think Lamb, Beal and Ross could all turn into annual all star caliber shooting guards.

Motiejunas and it's not even close .. I think the others will be fine players, but I feel DMo has a legitimate shot at being a dominant player in this league .. possibly superstar level ... 7' and has the tools,it all depends on how hard he works.

You keep the guy with the most unique skillset that is the hardest to find and replace.

Therefore, you keep White or Motie. Lamb is a great looking youngster, great. But reality is they are practically growing those guys on trees these days, perimeter players in the 6'3" to 6'7" range, that can handle and shoot. They are more easily attainable.

The other thing you have to consider is if you are going to win a Finals, you are most likely going to have to go through Miami or Boston next season and likely Miami or Chicago for several seasons after that. What do they have on the wings? Can Lamb compete with them? No...you need guys that can play D, that carry some weight on their frames that can still move. You need way more size than Lamb. You gotta get guys Parsons size that can shoot.

You keep Motie or White. Since Motie shouldn't be in the poll, you keep White. He has the most unique skillset and is the most likely mismatch for an opponent to have to deal with and he's easily the rarest combination, a guy 270 lbs that can bring the ball up end to end, and finish or dish, or he can set up the offense and stare down his defender face him up and back him down or flip and post up and back down his defender. White is the rarest of players with his skillset. Gotta keep him.

Initially was going to vote for Lamb because Moteijunas is already locked as going nowhere but if it ever did come down between the two, while Lamb is more NBA ready then any of our rookies to play his position at SG, Motiejunas has more potential.

Not to mention, you can't teach height and with Scola gone, I don't think we have a player with a better post game and last year, sealed it for me that we need people that can play with there backs to the basket.

That losing streak at the end of the season we had always had the same rhythm, second half, opposing teams doubled Scola, everyone else starts taking jump shots because no one else can score in the post even against second rate big men.

Most of the pollsters are right on the money here. D-Mo and Lamb are both keepers but for a different reason than most are suggesting.

D-Mo can play C or PF and at PF he is in the mold of a Pau Gasol giving them two seven footers on the front line. The Rockets gave away their hand last year when they attempted to pair Gasol with Nene. They want a large front court. D-Mo can also not be traded for some additional time so it is unlikely.

Lamb is playing at a position that they will have NO OTHER players at unless J-Rich is considered a SG (which I think he's a SG/SF) once Martin goes to Orlando. Martin is 100% going because of the expiring contract regardless. It's a forgone conclusion. If they trade Lamb, they are left with very little options at SG and they can fill the role with J-Rich and Lamb.

Despite the fact I love all of the rookies, the truth is obvious. White and Jones are both similar players albeit with slightly different skills. Both are tweeners and could be used at PF and SF... I would think Jones with his height is more the PF but skillsets are better suited for SF while White is certainly a better PF but height makes him more a SF. Either way, one of those two players is almost certainly what the Magic will have to choose from.

I asked Jonathon Feigan his thoughts on Lamb being part of the trade earlier today on Twitter:

@Jonathan_Feigen I was thinking about DHoward deal. Of rookies, would Lamb be LEAST likely to go? move up to 12 to draft, no SG's - Martin?

    His response:
Rockets moved up to 12 specifically to get Lamb, but I don't know how Magic feel. They would get some say and he's certainly not untouchable.

I say Jones. The reason is because he looks the most determined. There are too many guys in the league that don't play like they want it.

This opinion is based off not getting to see many highlights of these guys.

Orlando probably wants one of Motie and Lamb

Don't think we can keep both and still do the deal

Probably Lamb, and that's fine as long as we aren't giving up too much else.

Lamb is already gone. Lamb has to be sacrificed.

Definitely DMo. A big guy's value only goes up in the coming years.

Motie....we've been looking for someone over 6' 8" to play PF for about 6 years now. Now all of a sudden people think 7 footers with skills grow on trees because we have one...

Lamb is the scoring we would need....but you can find a SG that can give you points....

3 rookies!? that's insane... the magic have screwed themselves. they have no leverage. all we need Is a package that's better than cavilers... IMO Morris and jones, cap relief and picks is plenty.
