I think trading McGrady isn't really related to whether or not we could land Shard. If we got a good enough deal for Mac we should consider trading him whether or not we have Shard.
Lewis couldnt even hold mcgrady's jockstraps. replace mac's numbers and infeluence?. lewis dosent have the leadershp and the floor IQ of tracy to ever come remotely close to replace mac's value. you need to start watching more games and focus less on stats. even the stats say mac cannot be replaced by lewis. take you're hate glasses for a second and start thinking rationally. yao could'nt lead a team nowhere. we were in the playoffs because tracy signle handedly got us there. a combo of yao and lewis equates to lottery.
Again thread with potentional T-Mac's trade... No we can't trade Tracy. Rashard would help him and that's what the organization is doing. If Tracy would be on the bench or he wouldn't feel the ball Rashard could make plays. T-Mac is a SG and Rashard is SF. No camplain
You can say it but it doesnt make it true. T-Mac was unhappy in 05-06 playing the three so they moved him to his original position at the two this year. Just because he is 6'8 does not mean he has to be a 3.
One big problem even in a 2 for 1 deal, Tracy's salary is still a problem. In a way, similar to KG. Also, i i we're a GM, i would be concerned about his back, enthusiasm, and how many more years he's gonna play. Normally, I'd rather have one great player than 2 good ones since you only have 5 guys on the court. However, our severe lack of depth would entice me to shop him around and determine his value at least. The Bulls are loaded with talent and Portland has more young talent and draft picks galore. They seem like our best options. I'd rather him go East the Bulls however, since Portland should be a force to be reckoned with in a couple years. On a side note, If Portland would draft Durant instead of Oden i would probably become of fan because of the UT duo. Imagine if they traded for Acie Law instead of Connelly Jr? Allot of Texas basketball fans would love that team. Nothing like off season fantasy land.
OK time to break this down. Never said Lewis was as good as TMac. In fact if you had read my post without getting your panties in a wad (because I suggested trading youre brokeback fantasy player/lover) you would know that. Tracy McGrady PPG 25.3 RPG 5.90 APG 7.3 EFF + 21.00 Rashard Lewis PPG 22.4 RPG 6.60 APG 2.4 EFF + 21.33 Dont see a huge difference there except in APG. However I do know the difference in the 2. My point was (This is important now pay attention) would the team be better of with A) the combination of TMac and Lewis or B) the combination of Lewis and the players a "TMac" could bring in a trade. Never said we should do this one way or another. Just wanted peoples opinions of which would be the best way for this team to build itself into a championship contendar. Instead all I have gotten is flamed by flamers like you who are to lazy to read a whole thread before spewing out senseless dribble. Another thing if you think we are championship caliber team already well then its you that needs to start watching games. Games other than ours. Have you seen SA, Pheonix, Dallas lately? They have way more talent then we do even with Lewis on our team. If TMac is as good as YOU feel he is then we should be able to get some pretty dam good players for him, yes? So how is what I suggested a combo of just Yoa and Lewis? You are the one that needs to start thinking rationally. I used to think Blazer ben ment you were from portland now I see that it means you are a stoner. Its obvious you were high when you responded like this. I like TMac as much as any Rockets fan. I just dont have a man crush on him like you apparently do. If it would make the team better by trading him I would do it. Sorry if that hurts your feeling brokeback stoner. Better than a r****ded stoner who puts his mancrush over the team.
Nicely put! What is his value? Would the team be better with him or what he could bring with his value? Simple yet apparently very complicated to some.
Thanks. I try and lay off the drugs. By the way, nice rebuttal. I couldn't help but laugh my arse off!
Rashard shots a high & then Tmac from the the field, threes and at the freethrow line. I'm not saying hes better then Tmac but hes good enough to be the second, if not first option on a lot of teams.
I work with Rashard's brother in law and Rashard has a preference for Orlando (a strong preference) he realizes that it will be easier to get to the finals in the east than west. Also, he will be the number 1 or 2 option in Orlando as Dwight begins to develop. Doesn't want the family pressure of playing in Htown. However, he did say that Houston is on his list of options. Seattle is crazy not to put out a lineup of Watson Jesus Shuttlesworth (Ray Allen) Durant Lewis Wilcox Bench Ridnour Collison Wilkins
after 10 years in the league... Tmac is a confirmed playoff loser... I would trade Tmac for Lewis and Ridnour... but if we can get Lewis for Bat... then id trade Tmac for two quality top 50 players then next year if Yao is playing like Cr@@p again or injured again...id trade him for someone like a Marion and a filler or 2
if we DO get Lewis for Battier how bout trading t-mac to detroit for re-signed billups and hamilton Billups Hamilton Lewis ???? Yao
The answer is no. I understand your point, but trading McGrady would not bring back equal value, even in multiple players. His salary is too tough to match with one player and Lewis really should be the 3rd option. Yes, he had a good season, when healthy, and has gotten better. Ideally, he becomes a better defender and defers to McGrady and Yao on offense. He still should be able to get somewhere between 18-20 ppg if he can happily defer. He's got to want it, though. It's tough to ask a young player in his prime to take a slightly lesser role.
