With all these Lin Haters in H-Town, Sign & Trade for Dwight and give the Lakers Asik & Lin. At least they will be appreciated in LA unlike in delusional H-Town.

If we trade asik it better not be just to make room for Howard, but for a serious upgrade... And that means a super star. If not I'd rather have Howard be an absurdly oversized power forward and try to keep one of Howard or asik on the floor at all times.

That really only works when one or both can score a la Hakeem and Ralph. Asik and Howard are both so limited offensively that it would just be a nightmare in the lane. Harden/Lin drives and Parsons slashing would get crowded up with everything log jammed in the lane. If Dwight is in Houston, it really makes more sense to send Asik out to get the full value out of him or only use him to back up Howard and in special scenarios.

Screw Dwight Howard! Wait for next year and bring Kevin Love.
    Lin
    Harden
    Parsons
    Love
    Asik

AND even more than that, those d league players had to go up against Pop. They had no chance. The man was just toying with them all series, as short as it was.

the first 2 games were about what they were, 12 points worse than the spurs, the second 2 games were about what they were with the the d leaguers, 25 points worse. Even if they had everyone they were still about 5-6 points worse, but that gives a heck of a lot more chance to pull an upset.

Trade Howard at the deadline and keep Asik. Howard would be Morey's greatest asset of them all.

I'd rather bring in a wing defender like Iguodola and keep Asik. Just play small like they do most of the time anyway, but add a top defender that can take top wings on.

If Howard leaves LA, but he doesn't come to Houston, then I would make a real play for Gasol. If the Lakers are facing next year without Howard and without Bryant for most if not all of the season, they might just punt the year, collect some assets for Gasol and anyone else they can ship off and save huge luxury tax money. The Rockets get a top PF for 2013-14, but the beauty is, they wouldn't be committed after that. If it doesn't work, they open the cap space back up for 2014.

In terms of salary the Rockets could trade Robinson and Jones/White/Motie for Gasol and work it. That wouldn't be much for the Lakers to get back for Gasol, but they could get two pieces and save around $14M in salary and another $14-20M in luxury tax depending on what else they would do. Two pieces of some value and $30M saved is a pretty solid deal even if the Lakers make plenty of money.
