a good post up guy we could use at number 13 would be Loren Woods. The guys got mad game and hes 7-1, and his stock has dropped dramatically this season...last year if he would have declared, he would have been a 1-5 pick, but now hes down to middle first round. I say, if we get 13(thats a big IF cuz we are going to the playoffs baby!!!), we draft Loren Woods out of Arizona.

Loren Woods is a toothpick. Of course, he couldn't be worse than Kelvin Cato...

Yes, I meant since the 16 team format.

I was at the NCAA tournament in San Antonio this weekend, so I got to see Woods twice. After seeing him play a whole game for the first time, I was pretty impressed. He did a good job on defense against his men and had 7 blocks vs Illinois. He probably needs to bulk up, but I see him becoming a player a lot like Dikembe Mutombo, although not quite as good.

Didn't Orlando have the 13th best record when they jumped all the way into #1 to draft Shaq? In fact wasn't Orlando lucky twice? We got to find out how much they paid David so we alsocan rig a ... hey what am I saying we're going to the playoffs - BELIEVE!!!

Actually guys, if the Rockets make the playoffs this year, they must convey their first-rounder to the Grizzlies as part of the Francis deal.

Not quite. Orlando was the 13th team the year they won the lottery and drafted Webber (who they then traded for Penny).

To avert any confusion, Dr. of Dunk is correct, 1000 combinations are assigned. With the team with the worst record getting 250 combinations, and so forth.

Also you will know when a team wins the lottery if they are not announced where they should mathematically be. For instance, if the Rockets do finish up with a record that has them mathematically at the 13th pick, and when the picks are announced, if they are not announced at #13, it means one of their picks garnered them a top three pick.

There're actually 1000 combinations initially assigned to the 14 teams. Fourteen balls numbered 1-14 are put into the drum. Four balls are drawn at a time to see which combination of numbers gets the first pick. These balls are then put back and the selection run again to get the 2nd pick. Ditto for the 3rd pick. After the 3rd pick, it reverts to worst record. Therefore the team with the worst record can't have any worse than the 4th pick.

...unless they changed all this recently
