Thanks for the history lesson. I was being sarcastic. I know we skipped over him with three picks that year.
Now which Predrag are we talking about? From the Kings, no way. Can't afford him and we would have to offer T-Mac or Yao to form a deal. For Drobnjak, we don't need him anymore since we got Mt. Mutombo.
We would be unbeatable with that kind of team. It would take a miracle for us to get him... We don't have the assets, and the Kings wouldn't want to make us contenders.
Nah, he's actually quite funny. His website is hilarious: http://www.nba.com/sonics/drobnjak/manjaks.html
yall know-nothings are obvioulsy getting peja stojakovic and predrag drobnjak mixed up! they are completely diff players...way different...
Guys this thread isn't supposed to be a thread asking if a trade for Predrag is possible. Pretty much, this hypothetical trade is more like "If we were ever given the opportunity to get him, would it be a good idea?" Basically, if Predrag got to the point to where he was like "Okay, either you trade me to the Houston Rockets or I will never play for the Kings again." Then, because we were in that situation, we could trade anyone outside of Yao & TMac to get him. Would you guys love to have him on our team, or do you think he would disrupt any chemistry between our players that we might have because it would take so much to get him? I dunno, this impossible deal kind of makes me think about 6-7 straight Championships...
Awesome! That's hilarious - thanks for pointing it out. Wonder if the Rockets have anyone doing something like this.
In other words, is his game compatible with Yao & T-Mac's? I would have to say, it depends on him. If he's willing to camp out on the 3 point line & shoot 3's (& make them), then yes, he would fit with this team & I'd love to have him. On the other hand, he's obviously a competitor, but his game suffered when Webber came back. Whether it was psychological, or Webber freezing him out, he wasn't quite as effective without the pick & roll. I like the player, but I'm not real sure the strength of his game would fit this team.
As good as Peja is,he doesn't D up and would of course cost more than we could offer.A nice role player who can knock down the J would suffice in his stead.
Actually, Peja's a much better defender than people give him credit for. He's not a bad rebounder, either. For what he's being paid now, I'd want him.
I mean, outside of our untouchables,we don't have the personnel to get it done. Peja's talent,it would seem,is maximized in the Kings,Euro, run and gun,offense..like Hottoddie said.Christie and Jackson play great perimeter defense, and Webber does his thing in the middle, allowing Peja to benefit bigtime IMO...and he does get to the glass some on that team.I just feel if we need his outside game, that can be had in a role player.Don't get me wrong...PS is a stud, but I would like to see a quality PF that can D up,here before him.
