True. However, I would assume that if we are able to pull out of this funk and start playing winning Bball, it would be at least in part because Yao is playing well.
He'll retire before he changes teams. So it's either all Rockets or nothing at all. How could you say that, really? Where you here last year???
i'm thinking they will trade yao if this year doesn't turn out well. However I don't think the issues we're having now are Yao's fault in any way. Our defense just sucks!
You could argue that last year was a result of depending too much on a player who has shown an inability to stay on the court. It's not a talent or skill issue. If the guy isn't on the floor, he's not contributing. If Michael Jordan missed as many games as Yao has, I'd still question whether I really wanted him on my team or not.
I think most Rocket Fans want him to leave. Its been building. If the Rocket's don't turn it around, I would think the Rockets would be interested on what kind of offers they might see. It would be foolish not to explore the possibilities, they should also explore trading either AB/Martin, as that back court will not work unless we want more mediocre teams.
True, although you could also combat that with the "he was overplayed" argument. Michael Jordan was not a 7 foot center carrying the entire team plus his 300+ lb. frame on his own. It wasn't until just recently did he start (last 3 years or so) that he started getting labeled injury prone and missing entire seasons. I'm sure if he wasn't playing for the Natioanl Chinese team every summer he wouldn't have lost as many years as he has. Not like Jordan was playing for team USA even after the season, every... single... year.... ya know.
if the rockets are going to be bad then so be it I just hope they dont just turn it around to be middle of the pack miss playoffs and get a crappy draft pick medium ground is a tough spot to be.
